I am trying to get back into quake wars, but I have noticed that the PB update client is no longer supporting the game. What is being used now?

I think it should be time to drop pb on every server. It doesn’t work and no doubt a human admin can do a better job.

It’s not possible to run ranked without PB though, and the discussion to get rid of ranked went nowhere.

I can assure you it is possible to run a ranked server without PB. It’s not a requirement for being ranked. And I’m not saying that Punkbuster is perfect, but it does have it’s uses and it does catch cheaters:

Haha nice This looks really good for team Aero… Anyway, back on topic, i (and many others i think) would find it better if PB was dropped from servers, seems to cause more harm than do any good (Your case being an obvious example). Would it be possible to use another anti-cheat system? Or is PB the only compatible one with the game?

I’ve installed files but I can’t play at all! I got a ‘handshake’ error and kicked out and one time, even the MD5Tool mismatch error.
After Brink big disappointment, I have installed Win 7 and QW, but I’m so sad: I can’t play!
Please help me!

PS I think it’s no need to mention I don’t ever tried to use cheats.

PS2 And what about the files in C:\Program Files (x86)\id Software\Enemy Territory - QUAKE Wars\pb? They also need to be replaced?

punkbuster is kicking me in every server, i would love it if PB is gone, i have to rejoin every server 5-6 times before i can play normal without being kicked every minute.

I can say that MozZii has been kicked of off Team-Aero for 3-4 months already, but thanks for trying to slack our good name DrFunkenstein? Also, what cheat is the md5 mismatch?

Lol, if Aero wanted PB to be down i wouldnt run all my servers with it now would I?

Sorry Crityqal, I’m not implying anything here. This was meant to show that PB does work on occasions. I know Mozzi was kicked out of the clan shortly after that and rightly so.

what really interests me in this and the sniper script thread is the fact that you seem butt-hurt konLiziuS. you re so fast at dissing any member of team aero? do tell us your sorrows, what happened, did they own you too much ingame and you cant handle it? ^^

Funny, I’m not a super skillboost player (you know, the type of player who went from total noob to awesome unkillable beast in 4 monthes of gaming, no I wont drop names) and I never have any problem with pb in 3+ years of playing this game, weird isnt it…
