Im surprised… considering that it could be coming out in the first half of this year… that there is no hype involved with Quake Wars.
Heck… this is the only message board ive found for the game, and it doesnt get more than 10 or so posts a day.
Is there a community somewhere that im missing? Where is the hype?
Id like to see this game be bigger than RTCW… but its gonna have a hard time getting there if no one realized the game is out heh.
Oh don’t you worry, when it’s time to roll out the media machine you’ll know so much about this game you’ll be on 1st name terms with the AI! Besides it’s had pretty indepth coverage in various gaming magazines already.
where did you get that one from? afaik there was no official statement that the game will be out in the first half of this year. besides “could be” is really highly interpretable.
would be awesome though as i hope that i can play etqw in my summer vacation 
There is hype among the hardcore ET elite. Mere plebians will know when they need to.
The thing about hype is that a lot of it is based on rumours and third-hand knowledge …

If you want some news about the game have a look at the current December/January issues of many magazines including PC Zone (UK) and CGW (US) and several magazines in France, Germany etc.
Lots of infromation about the game such as vehicles, classes, maps and some new screens.
What’s hype other than people preparing to be disappointed because the developers haven’t read their minds?
I think it’s a good thing there’s no hype. Then we can pass on the obligatory post-release bitching… although I think we will still see that from people whining that the game isn’t free/it isn’t WW2/etc.

Yip i know and i here yeh, its just that i cannie understand why people dont just concentrate on playin ET till QW is closer to coming out.
A few years ago i stopped gettin sucked into the hype and gettin worked up about the next big games release or console release. Funny enough it sames to have coincided with the discovery of enemy territory. Coincidence? 
heheh… I hear ya… and id probably be right there with ya if it wasnt for the fact that my computer had a blowout and im on a P.O.S. labtop till i can get it fixed. About all I have to do right now is daydream about games when id rather be playing em
Sucks… the blowout timed itself to happen right at my time off between semesters… all this gaming time wasted.

There are good sides of waiting, you know. If ET:QW is released late enough, I will be able to purchase the best AGP card there is without feeling uneasy about spending ridiculous amount of money.
I’m a bit annoyed that I didn’t buy PCI-E mainboard when I had a choice, because 7800 cards cost about as much as 6800GT (best AGP card, Ultra is just overclocked. You may unlock extra pipes on plain 6800 or LE, but you can’t get 256MB memory that way)
