Base settings sux ? Huge spread, over powered rocket splash radius, shitty netcode, stroyent tool revive super slow, fireteam not showing hp, and so on. No really, etqwpro for pub is much better than base, it’s a good motivation for players to come on server imo. Also I feel like playing unbalanced mod like qwta is.

Minor nitpick but what’s recursive about those cvars? And why would you even want vanilla in etqwpro? Vanilla is WORSE.
Anyone want to give an objective reason why we shouldn’t use TA? It’s worked great for all our members. This is also a matter of compatibility and functionality, our MAC members get better gameplay and smoother FPS on custom maps in TA than in Pro.
I wish hannes wouldn’t be such an arse about promod on mac but compiling on it is apparently even more of a pain than linux or even windows so I can see why he can’t be bothered.
As for not using QWTA, as Tony has mentioned it’s missing features from ETQWPro that are actually quite beneficial for all players. But in general I simply dislike Azuvector’s design decisions and think he’s going in the wrong direction. Base is just about bearable, QWTA is awful and ETQWPro is perfection at least at the gameplay level (yes it has bugs, so does all software).
Have you guys even tried version 3.3 since he released all the hot fixes? If not go try it right now on our custom map pub. I guess I could have tried Pro once on like 0.5 and then refused to play it again when 1.0c came out but that would be like an Ostrich in the sand…
I’d love to try it but the server won’t start without some number of players on it. Post your server config here and I can try it locally perhaps.
Run your own servers with whatever mod you like but you can **** off if you think you can force your decision on others not in your little cult.
TAW was remarkably gracious about going into an event with a mod that we don’t use knowing you guys planned to make a movie out of it.
Don’t be so serious - it was just friendly fun match and Don won’t be having names visible in video (afaik). Not like we’re going to send it to failblog or slap huge “YOU GOT OWNED” banner on it.
You had plenty of time in advance to practice on promod while we delayed a few weeks to get servers set up.

Working on the team jungle now. Focused in one player of each team. And none of the scenes is better or worse than the other. Found beautifull scenes in two teans.
Really liked the players i watched at TAW, they are very respectfull player.

Telling us to take a hike if we want to play by something other than your rules and restrictions seems childish, especially after we already played by your rules once… you would think you’d return the favor…
In any case, you can all separately decide for yourselves, individually, whether you want to play or not. However I speak for all TAW QW members when I say that we won’t be playing any more matches that we have no say in setting up the conditions for, it just isn’t fun for us to do that over and over and to be honest, we could be doing other things that we have more control over. It’s only fair to trade off matches, and we already did the first one on your terms, wouldn’t it only be fair to switch now, or does it have to be “your way” all the time?
I find it odd that people think we are trying to force any of you to do anything, all we suggested was doing the next round on QWTA, on our servers. It has nothing to do with Nirvana and wouldn’t affect it in any way. What would be so horrible about a couple of games in TA? You guys might want to re-think your opposition to it, you never know, it could be fun. At the least it would be trying something new right? Give it some thought. I think we can be reasonable about this.

To be more general, the animosity is mostly coming cuz you think that without TAW etqw is dead and most of your posts are either advertisement for TAW or condescendant POS, NIRVANA event was’nt, isnt and will never be TAW’s puppet so if you are unhappy, you can move on.

im up for it Feanor. i suggest starting a new thread so everything is clear about how you want to set this up.

QWTA has big flaws but so what. some here are taking this to serious. if feanor offers us another match then we should respect the offer rather than bitch about it. lets not get snobbish about the mods. they all have thier flaws. as we found out last sunday. remember team swap fail.
this should not be about the mods we are using but more about promoting the levels we play. and the match envoirenment is a great way to do this.
we should be happy that more and more want to play the levels in whatever format they choose.
also this can be seperate from any nirvana promoted match. so then we have more matches setup and more promotion. its like two cells dividing. each promoting more similar events.

feanor you say that taw dont use promod and havent for ages but if i remember right it wasnt that long ago and use used it 3 times a week for over a year and its an easy mod to understand no really big game changes compared to vanilla

I was reading through the posts and I got the exact same feeling, so I’m glad you already replied this channa.
So enough about that. I’d like to say I’d be willing to join the next nirvana event, doesn’t matter which mod, as long as it’s quakewars 
And I would love to see the names in the movie though, otherwise you just keep guessing who did what. I don’t care if that would make me look bad or something, heck if I did something really stupid (which is probably the case) I would rather be made aware of it so I can learn from it
One important remark though: 6GMT is a though time for me to make it, 7GMT might be more appropriate. I realise this might cause problems for other people, so I’m just asking to consider it and hopefully it will be moved to that time

Well the next match I’m organising will be ET:QW Pro again and so far the maps people are so far want to try out is Canal and Andes however picking a 3rd map is proving tricky, we are waiting on updates still from a couple of maps.

Yeah sure, but if you are talking about Donnovan movie, it’s more a movie to show the maps than the match, I mean it’s not a true frag movie to me.
Also, Don is using serverside demo who aren’t showing name by default, you need to modify the game a bit to show them, but it’s currently being tested, so many there will be name in Don movie, who knows ? But you (like anyone) can get the server demo (or use client demo) to make your own movie

HAAA!! I will release a private movie for all featured players, with a on-screen code identifying each individual player scene. Then will contact each player and give hin his code, so he can watch the movie and know what are his scenes. So he can decide if he want his name on it or not.
If less than half movie lenght stay with no name authorization, then entire movie will have no names.
