News from the command post
My first thought was “That’s way too long to be the morse code from the W:ET command post”. After a little gooling “oooooh”

Please, in IEEE 754
Wow.
A new mod.
And IRATA is working on it.
It must be good.
Is more information available?
Especially: Will there be a GNU/Linux version?
This is a modified ET with security fixes and a lot more changes; Compatible Windows/Linux, I think there’s a ticket for Mac support
I updated my hacky little linux standalone/installer script for this rc:

It’s especially for Linux since the whole team works on Linux systems

Mateos, lakersforce and Psykorgam recommended to you to try out Enemy Territory: Legacy in your thread “Is it possible to run W:ET on 64 Bit OS”, so once again: yes, ET:L runs on linux. More information can be found on the link Mateos gave you.
Just to clarify, ET:L is now both game client/server and ETPro-like mod - “legacy”. IR4T4 has been very active lately and he added a lot of exciting features. Basically, he is pushing the project forward every day. There will be a release announcement and a complete changelog once we hit 2.70 stable. In the meantime, please download our latest release candidate and report any bugs you encounter.
What you means Etpro-like mod??? You can provide a better explantion to this sentence?? Or maybe write about what features these 2 mods have equal??
Click on my link Zero, and see the Demands part: ETPro-like hitboxes are planned for instance
IR4T4 should answer this since he is the one implementing all the cool mod stuff. A little preview: ETPro-compatible lua scripting, hitboxes+hitsounds and antiwarp. On top of that we have fixed loads of bugs, including those from theProject Bugfix. There will be a release announcment with more details and future plans when we are ready to ship 2.70.
I tried to go to your bugtracker, but I couldn’t figure out how to file a bug, so if you’ll excuse me, here it comes…
I tested it on my main machine (see attached files for specs) and it worked fine on Windows 7, but it will not start on GNU/Linux (currently using Mint 14RC). It crashes with:
tty]X Error of failed request: BadValue (integer parameter out of range for operation)
Major opcode of failed request: 150 (XFree86-VidModeExtension)
Minor opcode of failed request: 10 (XF86VidModeSwitchToMode)
Value in failed request: 0x2e00012
Serial number of failed request: 197
Current serial number in output stream: 199
I am using the default nvidia driver (current, no updates/tested).
(On a seperate note, I had another unrelated bug on another pc running amd and ati…I’ll post that one later…it was about all text in the game looking really wierd, like pixels missing in the fonts.)
Time will tell what’s ETPro like and what’s not. At the moment the mod code is more or less a side project of ET:Legacy where we add available ‘nice to have’ features w/o basically changing the gameplay. We have just reached the time to think about the mod code because it wasn’t used in earlier ET:Legacy versions for some reasons. At the moment it’s like a 2.70 ET #-)
lakersforce, the log shows some changes of latched r_ cvars. Did you start ETL the first time at that point? Any actions in the menus done before?
This crash looks like you did set an unsupported value for a renderer cvar.
Bugtracker:

You have to be registered and logged in. Then a “New Issue” link will appear next to the “Issues” link:

Do you get this error only from our binaries or do get it even if you compile them yourself?
LOL I actually decoded the morse from the cp in original wolf et a while back. If any one interested it says:
Splash Damage Rocks Your Socks.
So if no one else had posted I would have submitted that without decoding it lol lazy dude I am!
Little sidenote:
25 years ago I had to learn to morse in my time at the German army.
