And of course http://www.gamer.nl/viewdoc/2108 , for the dutch speaking people
New Screenshots (eurogamer)
I recommend two first articles - they are filled with specific gameplay information and insights, as opposed to one from Gamespot. The gamespot article is very vague and unconvincing. As usual.
I really like the bit about new Infiltrator disguise - you actually become enemy soldier, with his weapons and all.
Also human weapons have finite clips which need reloading, whereas strogg weapons have infinite clips but their weapons overheat. Probably works similar to Sten, except with more firepower. Now Iâm convinced the sides are truly asymetric.
We might see a wave of useless engineers - engineers who play the class just to get access to a vehicle, and care about nothing else. Hopefully not.
The Soldierâs assault riffle looks big.
A mention of explosive charges planted by Soldiers.
Apparently even medipacks are limited now, one of articles mentions it.
Plans for about 12 maps, but - as mentioned in previous articles - youâll have different objectives on same map depending on time of day. So it may be more than 12 huge, detailed missions.
A mention of various kinds of handgrenades depending on class - so far, only two are confirmed (from previous articles): smoke and standard⊠actually standard isnât mentioned, but itâs sem-obvious the game will have one. Also the emp thingy may be a grenade (Constructor), possibly âbioelectric pinch bombâ (infiltrator) too.
Oh, and the game looks great. Finally some good screenshots. I only liked 2 of the 5 released earlier.
Nice too see some details on gameplay too, I was envisioning Command and Conquer base building, except you was the grunt.
there is an article with the shots on Gamespy as well.
Most interesting info I read in the article was that the game will ship with 12 maps.
looks like the hud is built into the helmet⊠so does that mean you loose the hud when your helmet get shot off?
that boat looks ace
i love this paragraph:
One of the more spectacular strategic options we witnessed was a ballistic missile launch pad that can be constructed, activated, and targeted anywhere on the map. This isnât merely a long-range strike vehicle but a strategic-scale weapon with a blast radius to be feared. Itâs also something of a great psychological weapon â because when that baby lifts off, it makes a great big bloody contrail in the sky, for all participants to see. They know itâs coming. This is the part of the game where watchful teams start scattering away from their posts. If you see such a sudden mass migration, you might want to join it.
LMAO I have seen that screenshot yesterday as well when i was looking trough the screens a little fast. I didnt see the 2 GDF troopers on the land because of their camouflage! It works :P!
holy shit! the pictures are fu**ing beautiful

11,000 hours of QA (donât know the term QA but I guess itâs some kind of quality / game balance testing) for RTCW!
Thatâs 275 days (5 days a week 8 hours a day).
Actually more than a year.
Aye but thats if one person is doing it. Assign 20 people to it and its 14 days
QA = Quality Assurance. in a multiplayer environment you got more people for QA of course simultaneously. so the 11,000 should be divided by the number of those people.
as iâm programmer myself, itâs the most unthankable job i know regarding programming.
Would thank someoe for testing your code that you spent ages on and have them tell you its all wrong.
