New Medic Style Take The Fun Away?

(Looted) #61

:expressionless: point taken… but you got my point?
:penguin::penguin::penguin: <<<<THAT IS A PENGUIN WITH A GUN!!!

(light_sh4v0r) #62

Yes I got your point, especially the fact that this system allows for more revives could be interesting. That is however the point the OP is making, if it’s easier to get revives off, playing medic might be less fun because of the reduced challenge.

(Looted) #63

i want less challenge and more people on my side shooting in the opposite direction as me.

as a dedicated medic though, i want to make it a personal side mission to annihilate the opposing teams medics.

(H0RSE) #64

I really don’t see how it’s going to change that that much. It’s not like you can toss revive from down the block - you still need to be pretty close. Also, since tossing syringes will be the norm in Brink, it will just become another part of the game, people will acknowledge it, adapt, and play accordingly.

(brbrbr) #65

its remind me weak attempts to add in AA3 weak knowledge of basic human anatomy and wound/injures natures in ā€œbasic medical training examā€[offline ones], but without proper animation its look sick, unnatural and disappointing[some things teached not completely right 4om medical point of view], let alone, interest 2 such education[completely lost in 1st ever attempt].

(Achtung) #66

What sounds best to me is to revive with a syringe or whatnot then they player can still choose when to get up.

Can u be gibbed if your revived and havent chosen to get up yet?

I’m pretty sure if you’re lying on the ground with a syringe you didn’t use yet, you’re still incapped and can be killed. Also, to counter the ā€œrangedā€ revives that Medics can do, they are not instant like they are in previous games. If a player chooses to revive himself, it takes like 3 seconds to initiate.

(Yellow Steroid Puff) #68

What’s really ā€œhilareousā€ is your spelling. It’s spelled ā€œhilariousā€.

Count it.

Stop trying to provoke people.

(Yellow Steroid Puff) #70

I’m not trying to provoke people; just educate them.

(LyndonL) #71

You’re 36; grow up. Being arrogant and inflammatory is not a good way to start your introduction to a new forum.

(BioSnark) #72

Oh, really? That’s very altruistic of you. In that spirit, I feel I should return the favor.

I’ve had a few responses from people saying that they never had any technical problems with Fallout 3. I can’t tell if they’re lucky, joking, lying, or on drugs.

Fallout 3 is UNIVERSALLY panned as being one of the most bugged games in history.
Suggesting that your detractors are lying or on drugs is blatantly provocative. Your assertion of consensus is again incorrect given the views expressed here.

The mere fact that Bethesda is somehow involved makes me leary about this game. I hope I’m wrong, but I think my concern is more than warranted.
Please ā€œeducateā€ yourself on the issue of Brink’s initial release date.

Ammo.

There seems to be a pretty big shortage of it in all of the demo videos I’ve seen. I hope they address this problem.
Please ā€œeducateā€ yourself on the different class roles in the game.

Well, I’m not counting screenshots. Unless I see a video of someone’s character running around a map; as far as I’m concerned, that map doesn’t exist (yet).
Good thing I posted some videos for you.

Be warned; it might take you a full half second to use it.
That is more than the time it would take to click on the video links I provided you instead of whining about the lack of videos.

Unfortunately, a few of the maps look too similar to distinguish them from other ones.
This issue can be corrected by an optometrist. Of course I mean that statement in an educational way.

Well, ok, let’s say that this person’s main language isn’t English. Ok, fine. So why doesn’t that person post on boards written in his/her native language?
English is an extremely difficult language to master due to it’s many irregularities and contradictions. It is, however, quite easy to understand, even when used with minimal proficiency. Why not make use of that advantage.

To answer your question specifically, the poster was asking a question about an unreleased game on the developer’s discussion forums in order to have the question answered. The developer’s forums happen to be in English. Now you know.

I hope this was all very educational.

(Looted) #74

burn…
:penguin::penguin::penguin:

(Nikto) #75

make that +2

(Cankor) #76

Lets get back on what is actually an interesting topic so the thread doesn’t get locked.

Agree with Horse that of course it will just become part of the game. It will be very interesting to see how all of these ease of use ā€œimprovementsā€ work out in practice.

(Looted) #77

anyone happen to know the cooldown on the medic’s Laz grenade?

(tokamak) #78

That’s all a matter of balancing which is still highly subject to change.

The lazerus grenade could probably not even have a cooldown as such, but just a very high pip cost which means the amount in which you can use it depends on the rest of your set up. Some might specialise it in getting their energy management as maximised as possible, others might just prefer it as an emergency measure.

(H0RSE) #79

Chances are, using the Laz nade (or any other special nade) operates similar to using a regular nade, only depending how ā€œpowerfulā€ it is, has increased ā€œusage fees,ā€ like a longer cooldown and/or higher ability bar cost.

(brbrbr) #80

just use mana potions to quickly replenish your mana/energy bar.
or buy uber-super-cool ā€œextra-mana-regenrative beltā€ di-rectly from SD ! Order it NOW !!
