That’s a strategy, automatically dropping an explosive when you’re killed without the need to do anything cheapens it for me. Obviously is IMO but I never liked it.
Well here it looks like you have to manually choose when to blow yourself to bits. Not sure if there’s an audible or visual cue that the guy is going to go kablooey, but if you see an incapacitated Operative you should probably think twice about finishing him off melee style. Hm, I wonder what the kill-radius is on the blast. Probably rather small.
no one sees the issue with defusing bombs obj with this? all the operatives would guard the bomb and if they get taken out, blast the defuser. Wait, but then he should have a medic anyways, so all is good. And operatives would be more likely to be defending the bomb if they had cortex bomb. wow i just convinced myself that cortex bomb is a good ability.
If there’s a cortex bomb on the objective then the defenders have just eaten a few more seconds from the time, that’s how it works.
If you see an operative defending it, you could just finish him off from far. No point in running up to him to kill him, risking explosion.
and how on earth would a resistance guy get that? lol.

The same way militia gains an AC-130 and a nuke in CoD MW 2
Although here it makes more sense, since it’s a small area for searching- only the Ark
Hopefully downed fire will have a counter. The problem with Second Chance in Black Ops is that is disrupts what normally happens when you shoot someone. In Brink, from what I have read, you can’t instantly kill someone. You fatally wound someone, and they either bleed out or are revived. So I see Downed Fire (or whatever) as just making people steer clear of dead people.
You will only get blown up by a cortex bomb is if you are tea-bagging a dying man.

Afaik you can gib them and send them straight to waiting for the respawn timer to count down.
This interview contains some awesome info:
You can customize all sorts of stuff. There is something I have never heard of before-- you can adjust the sensitivity of the sticks in a neat way-- you can have it so there sensitivity is low, but really high when you push the stick to the limit.
And he talks about how leans works-- when you go into iron sights, the d-pad changes to control lean. You can’t throw something while you are aiming down sights. That makes sense.

I like this, on PC it would be a context bind for iron sites, so you could for instance bind A and D (or whatever you want) to lean while in iron sites.
Also, here’s something I think is new. In W:ET when you built a bridge or a ramp or something it could subsequently be blown up. In ETQW the only thing you could blow up after it was built were guard towers or MG nests, grates once blown (think Valley 3rd objective, not Sewer) couldn’t be put back. In Brink, it sounds like when you create that alternate access by blowing a door (and probably the same with building stairs) the enemy can take it out.
I had a question, while disguised, can the operative receive ammo and buffs from the rival team?
Doesn’t seem likely but I just wanted to be sure about this.
Edit:
“…the only way the enemy can tell you’re not a part of the team is that they can’t buff you, so you always want to stay at arm’s length…”
Heh there could be an achievement like TF2 for getting ammo (TF2 = healed) from an enemy soldier.
I’m not entirely sure these are all new info but I guess I could write them out here, because that was probably the point of this thread, from the third gamearena article
-58 abilities
-caltrop grenade, operative-only, 30 second long caltrop mat that damages enemies who don’t go through it slowly.
-disguised operatives can’t get buffed by enemies
-when operative hacks a turret they can get into a first-person mode to shoot with it
-medics can make people able to soak up a lot of damage (or even invincible) for couple seconds by giving them adrenaline, after it wears off all the damage you received will hit you instantly

could you provide a link please?
thanks.
There is a lot of speculation, and some of it is some times based on second or third hand info.
