Schwarzeis:

That I knew, but now I’m not so sure about that anymore :<
I wonder why there was a Buldapun SMG with the letters DOOM infront of it under a Buldapun SMG without…
Gran Turismo is even faster.
That’s what she said.
toka. since you wont buy the game i wonder why you still stick around here and post. just curious, no flame intended.
That screenshot everyone is quoting seems bad until you realize that in the video there are 3 people behind that barrel which you can first see at 0:18 in the HD video. Only one of them is outlined through the wall. It seems like this outline comes from some sort of “enemy spotted” ability because you can see it again in the HD video at 1:10. Perhaps it has something to do with objectives, however at the 1:10 clip the person standing next to the player shouts “enemy spotted go get him” which leads me to believe it’s an ability.
Still an SD fan, still love most of Brink and the discussions here touch upon many aspects regarding game design that simply can’t be gotten anywhere else. Well at least until Futuremark starts their new project, those guys have a real tight relationship with their community. Beta testing there is really awesome.
I somewhat feel the same way.
but all the body-shots, iron-sights and slow reaction times
leave a lot to be filled-in by the players.
Wolf '09 was similar by taking away strafe-jumping, slower movement, +iron-sights,
but it played strangely fast versus good players, and the addition of a dot-sight for hip-fire by config gave the game a different look from all the teaser footage.
Toka, what is so wrong with BRINK that makes you not even consider buying it anymore?
It’s off-topic, yes… But I just wonder - since most if not all guys/girls on here will get it
thx for clearing that up.
it seems like a good tactical ability for the operative, being in disguise and using the homing beacon to highlight the medics on the opposite teams or the class responsible of completing the current objective.
The operative has that ability if I recall correctly. He can mark a target.
problem with futurmark is that you need a super duper high end pc to run their game (shattered horizon) properly. cant even compare it to crysis. i have to tone it down so much it doesnt look good anymore. it had great potential though, might still have. but the new weapons that got added some time ago seem like placeholders.
if they somehow manage to optimize the game some more to make it look good and run fine at the same time, and if they update these placeholder weapons, the game still has a chance to become a big(ger) success.
if not im curious what their next game will be like.
This may have already been mentioned… but there is no respawn timer on the hud. Or am I missing it?
Apparently you can see the respawn timer when you are downed. I would also assume you can see the timer if you view the scoreboard(TAB)… but not on the actual in-game hud?
ETQW and W:ET both had timers on the screen that let you know when your team’s next spawn wave was. This plays a pretty big strategic role for a number of reasons…
As far as the ADS in this vid goes… I wonder if its due to some aim-assist for the noobstick? The console aim assist may make ADS shooting more effective than it would with no aim asisst. Just speculating…

I don’t think there was one in W:ET, unless it came with a mod or you had to modify a cvar…
It was never confirmed. Only assumed.

The last stand pack was their final update which I considered a missed opportunity. The weapons were good but they also came with a realistic ‘travelling bullet’ system that added unnecessary complexity and made the game more a simulator than a balls-to-the-wall zero-gravity shooter it used to be.
The weapon is a Kross submachine gun. The user had actually hit him with the stock (butt) off his weapon, not a knife.
I want see PC gameplay… every single gameplay video is from ps3 or xbox 360 atm.
I just want see PC hud, i guess everything else looks same.
what makes you think the HUD will be different on PC ? other than the “Press X to …” ofc
I guess the HUD on PC will be very customizable. Through ingame options as well as .ini files
