The thing that you’ve screengrabbed is an enemy who’s been tagged by an Operative’s Homing Beacon ability.
New footage
Non sequitur much?
You do know that molotovs don’t have explosives, right? Burning alcohol is not exactly loud, neither is the glass shattering when compared to gunfire.
For those people who were asking about the Doom and Fallout weapons…
They’re skins made with imagery from the respective universes, mapped onto existing guns that have been created for Brink. They’re not exclusive weapons, just alternative appearances for the weapons - the Doom pack has 2 skins, one for Security (UAC themed - the “corporation” from Doom who made all your weapons, and the facilities you fight through and stuff - their logo is visible on the gun), and one for Resistance (with a picture of a Cacodemon - one of the monsters in the Doom series). Both skins are for the Bulpdaun SMG. I don’t know as much detail for the Fallout pack, but I’m pretty sure it’s one skin per faction as well, and I know they’re for a different gun - I think it’s another SMG.
I think when people say that the gameplay looks slow they are completely forgeting one crucial thing about the footage we have seen. It all looks like its been done in quite a low Fov, especially the container city stuff.
As people who change the fov for games will know, increasing the FOV from say 60, to 90 or 105 close to doubles gameplay speed (percieved speed).
…Just sayin
we know enemy highlight is toggle-able on PC. but what about objective highlights ?

So much drama could’ve been prevented.

And the movement speed is decent even with the Heavy footage (we see Grenade Launchers and other Heavy-only options being used), it’s only turning speed. You can tell they’re using a gamepad/console controller - and you can definitely adjust sensitivity for those, which means faster or slower turning speed at player discretion.
Not to mention, the “large amount of Heavy footage” comment alone means that it’s going to look slower than if it was all about showing what light characters can do with SMART.

Let’s hope then that in the PC version we will be able to change our FOV.
They used some of this footage last night on XPlay, when they had Brink in the “Big Ones” section.
A new story entry has been added:
[drupal=784]Press Event Deploys New Brink Interviews & Footage[/drupal]
Last week, Bethesda brought their current line-up of unreleased titles to snowy Utah, letting journalists from all over the world get their eyes and/or hands on it. Brink was part of the show, with its cooperative and competitive multiplayer on display (including a friendly tournament!), and we had several members of the team out there to answer questions, as well. Coverage from the event has now begun hitting the internet and brings with it a slew of new gameplay footage and screenshots. Be sure to watch to keep an eye out for those while perusing the features below:

thanks for posting the hd versions.
looking really sweet. i love the environment design. finally there is real design back in a shooter. whats currently out there is too realistic for my taste. its just a capture of the real world, which i think is boring for a computer game.
thats a real piece of artwork.
i also like that “long rifle” very much. boom boom. two hits, enemy down. very nice. railgun was one of my favorite weapons in quake and i think this thing might overtake the place for it. i fell in love with it.
what i dont like…
-too much text hints popping up.
-no “uh, oh, ahhh” sounds when you get hit. bit of screaming for the pain would do good for immersion.
-the ai seems pretty stupid. looks almost like they are puppets waiting for you to give them their coup de grace.
-low fov (looks like 60-70).
-no hit sounds (hope they will be optional).
-some really ugly low res/poly props (water can).
-minigun has no recoil at all (i think a minigun does actually not have recoil, but at least it should vibrate a bit). ingame its just static.
Minigun has recoil for a while. Eventually, as most guns in FPS games, the recoil cools off and with sustained fire you can aim the gun as if there were no recoil.
You’ll notice he starts shooting and doesn’t really stop for a good while, and at the same time he misses 10-15 shots due to recoil and bad aim. Then it calms down and he mows down 3 guys.

yea, but the minigun just sits there staticly. it doesnt move at all, except the rotating rounds of course. it should at least vibrate a bit.
Why exactly do you folks want immersion?

Wait, is that sarcasm or people really didn’t know this?

Environment is so damn sexy <3
But this sound stuff arrgghh, watch the scene at 1:12 and tell me it’s not super annoying if the game constantly does that.
