the last one with the sunset ambiente reminds me of something: does ET:QW have weather effects and sunrise/day/sunset/night effects?
day and night maps are promised but its unclear if they will use the doom3 dynamic lighting to make maps that cycle thogh day and night… but hope they do

On the other hand, if the GTA series can pull it off, why no such thing as the D3 engine? (Especially since id seems closely related to this project)

maby not considering the size of the mega texture, pre compiled would mean it would need to be lightmaped

The picture of the icaruses give me nightmares about when I was a little kid playing Quake 2. Those things are without a doubt the MOST annoying things ever. I had trouble with them for a long time. It’s awsome now…we cang et to fly em!! Jump packs for Strogg!!
I seem to remember one of the interviews mentioning that the day/night lighting was dynamic, so a map set at sunrise would go from dark to light. OTOH, that might just have been a dream :moo:
i really don’t need dynamic day/night lighting, but after i’ve seen the above pic with the reddish sky, i think it would look fecking awesome
i hope there’ll soon be a new (loooooooooooooooong) trailer out with more details
