Medics, Rambo medics and XP whores

I will take offense to that, if you don’t mind. There is a number of situations in which this scenario can occur. One is the fact that although the downed player can see the medic, it isn’t always obvious to the medic where the downed player is (if you believe otherwise, you have not played medic enough to encounter these situations).

Also, your “oblivious idiot” may be on his way to some other objective (perhaps an engy he knows to be in need of assistance, or perhaps you’re not on his fireteam and he’s moving to meet up with them). So it could be the medic can see you there, but, sorry, mate, he has something more important to deal with at this point.

Always respect the other players. There may be very good reasons for their actions, you cannot always know why someone does something. If you ASSUME things, you make an ASS out of U and ME :)[/quote]

I don’t quite agree with you there, unless for the situation you mention where the medic can’t see the downed teammate. (although he has to be blind to avoid the big red needle over him ;)). It only takes a second and a stab and he’s up and running again. The engy can probably spare that second, or he’s likely to be dead anyway. And then you’ll have the syringe again! So, only reason would be a priority revive and you’re down to your last syringe.

Hmmm… the “big red needle” is often not as clear as it could be (compare with RtCW, where it’s much easier to see). And I would take issue with your “only takes a second” - much depends on the situation.

And then of course there’s the “mysterious tap-out bug” (which I’m not aware of any explanation for, even after all this time) - which can make even the simplest revives a complete waste of time (use vital stamina to rush - extend needle - poof! gone :()

My main objection was to Pamper’s blanket “oblivious idiot” comment. Sometimes things are not what they seem…

So perhaps we have to agree to disagree. Hopefully only slightly

Has anyone experienced this situation before?

Yup. I’ve pretty much experienced every kind of possible medic problem/situation there can be, and to me at least, lately it seems I’m missing a whole lot more doing the run/jump/crouch/raise than I used to as well. :bored:

That bug is part of the reason why a medic shouldn’t go past someone on the way to another revive. The guy you’re aiming for my tap-out before you reach him, so revive the nearest first.

I wonder if this has to do with the way Shrub lowers the hitboxes of prone players. Good news is you don’t have to worry about gibbing your patient when you fire over them, bad news is that you have to be right on to make the revive every time.

It took me awhile to get the timing down when trying to revive people on ice. I’m guessing since I pay so much attention to it I’m more accurate while sliding than when I’m running around doing a standard revive.

There’s also your olde trusty compass onscreen with the giant medic symbol in it!
