- Shouldn’t that be swapped, so that Medics get Improved Resources with First Aid Level 1 (like for Signals) and Medic Ammo with First Aid Level 2?
- And Medic Ammo should be additional to Level 1 Light Weapons (“Improved use of Light Weapon Ammunition”: leading to 2 extra clips of ammo at spawn for medics)? Or shouldn’t it be replaced at all with another skill?

I edit this post because most of you got me wrong. I started this thread not to vote for weakening medics, but to discuss a replacement for the “Medic Ammo” reward, which is quite the same as Level 1 Light Weapons (“Improved use of Light Weapon Ammunition”).
The following was just a proposal for a more valuable reward:
The skills could go like this:
Starting: Medics begin with a pistol and one grenade.
First Aid Level 1: Field Medic
The medic has shown his value and is promoted to Field Medic. He is now able to wear a SMG to support his troops better at the foremost battles.
First Aid Level 2: Improved Resources (like before)
First Aid Level 3: Full Revive (like before)
First Aid Level 4: Adrenalin Self (like before)
and how exactly shoudl that be in sw mode? you lose your points after every round then. so the medics should run around with pistols then?
Medics are supposed to be supporting their team by healing them. They aren’t supposed to be the killing machines that they are right now.
And I like the idea of not getting a smg until level 2.

So I guess you dont like having medics on your team. Most people wont play it if all they get to do is heal your ass. Its a game, its not realistic. Get over it. If they changed it to the way you wanted it I suspect you might get bored cause most people would quit playing.

It’s been said before, and I can’t believe it requires repetition, but if you take away a medic’s SMG, then surprise, surprise, nobody will play medic any more.

God… medics are like terminators, they get self regeneration, they can take there own med packs… u cant win it 1 on 1.
U dont have 2 take away there smg, just adjust the medics medpacks so the medic HIMSELFCANNOT take his own health packs. That way they aint killing machines and they have 2 relie on the self renegeration, witch takes awhile…

I’ve been playing as Medic since original RTCW was released.
Honestly, it takes a second or two for a medic to switch between SMG & medpacks then back again.
During that time, he can’t shoot back. Any player worth their salt should be able to take him out in that time.
But I understand that we have to be patient with people new to the game who may not understand these subtle nuances yet, so you’re forgiven.
I dont agree at all ETPlayer. I have faced many a medic and won and I dont think I am that good. They are not unbeatable.
Then lets the SMG the First Aid level 1 reward. You should be able to reach level 1 in First Aid within one round.

If you want to tone down the medic, do it with their health bonus and regeneration. That is what makes them harder to kill.
But for once I agree with bogs :eek: all these ‘please change this’ and ‘please change that’ threads are pointless. Unless a really big problem is found, I don’t expect splash to be messing with the gameplay at all.
Medics start with pistol only, no way! Do you know how many panzies, mgs, FTs, GLs, mortars and other more explosive/nasty things are out there in the wild world of ET! People complain about meds being “terminators” starting with 1 clip and a smg yet they complain smg only soldiers are worthless?! I ain’t gonna be known as server cannon fodder for peoples kill totals.

solution, don’t go 1 vs 1 against them!!
you already know you’re at a disadvantage, so why go into fights you know you are likely to lose?
you can always prime a grenade and hope something will happen.
There have been numerous times where a gun-blazing rambo medic has fought to near death to come and save my ass while I am lying in a pool of my own blood, pliers out, dyn-o-mite 2/3 defused. Quik stick, and the day has been saved.

That medic’s name is [ccp]DieselBoy and many others. Those peeps who choose medic and play it deserve all the benefits they can get. Especially considering how often peeps tap out when they are enroute, only to get stranded in the open with no gun.
Medics are the glue of the team. Would you rather have Elmer’s or Super?

Alternatives for supah-medic destruction: Panzers, artillery, and flamers. 
I have no problem killing medics when I play other classes.

how the fuck are they overpowered 1v1? use a fucking grenade, get a panzerfaust go engineer and use rifle grenades, all those things will kill any player instantly except a level4 engineer or an adrenalined medic.
another suggestion would be that you learn to aim, headshot > bodyshot, aim for the neck/face, as for healing, what does that matter? the regenaration doesn’t make up for 10 hp before he should be dead, if they all of a suggen take out healthpack fucking shoot them to death they can’t heal faster than you damage unless you have no aim, if they run away to heal chase after them and shoot them in the back, they can’t dodge as well therefore you kill them faster then they heal as well. if they run away, you don’t chase after them and they come out healed you should be killed for being an idiot.

if you dont want to get into fight with medics, you cant be in the battlefield… fleeing is one option but usually that just ends up to the point that you are running and medic is prone/crouch smg:ing your head off 
only thing medics need is to lower the max ammo that they have, so that they would be atleast somewhat depending on fieldopses.
but as ive said before, they wont change anything at this point, so pretty much wasting our time here
