Level 7 is a little too high to unlock party matchmaking + solo matchmaking IMO

Seems fine to me personally.

The amount of level 5-6 people who I still see who don’t seem to understand certain objectives and concepts in the game (Like running with your knife out, walljumping) makes me kind of glad that people will have to get plenty of games under their belt before they get into matchmaking.
And how about MANDATORY ADVANCED TUTORIAL instead ?
I don’t think that will drill the point home, in the same way that repetition does.

I mean, how many new players haven’t learned the lessons on the Intro movie and tutorial?

(Szakalot) #42

yup, I still see newbies try to ADS as if this was COD

(MissMurder) #43

Thanks for the feedback on this folks. I’ll let the team know.

(Looms) #44

That would be A LOT of them.

How is that too long? We’ve had the stats reset 2 days ago and people , including myself, have easily reached level 7 already. And that’s not even grinding the whole day, I didn’t install the game until I got home from friends Thursday around midnight, played couple of hours went to bed and played a couple of hours again today.

Assuming this is a countermeasure to filter out completely new accounts I’d even suggest making it harder to get to level 7 or a longer restriction like a minimum of 25 hours of ‘on-map-playtime’ before people can access competitive matchmaking.

You can have ‘casual’ party matchmaking for people who have not met that requirement and competitive party matchmaking requires you to have those levels/hours.

there needs to be a lobby in game for people to hang out and chat so ppl dont have to go to the forum to find answers - most newbies wont come here so they will never get answers and remain newbies.

2nd their needs to be an in game friends system (steam friends list does nuthink) where you can “join on friend” who is on a server. Also is there a way to tell what server you are actually in while in game? Haven t managed to find it if there is.

(fawnBeef) #47

Wait once you hit 7 does the match-making change to not be 8vs8? cause i have a feeling that would make the maps alot more balanced.

(Amerika) #48

Ranked MM is 5v5. It’s a lot more fun in my opinion than the 8v8 servers since there isn’t as much spam and waves of people. I try to stick to 6v6 when I can.

(fawnBeef) #49

they really should mention that somewhere about the ranked MM, I honestly had given up on getting to level 7 (i’m 6.5) because I was tired of grinding so i could play the put myself through the same less than fun experience I’ve had so far. I’ll grind up to 7 as i have time, also I’m going to say as someone who bought the game that if you put money into it you should get some kind of initial XP boost to help at first.

Also level 7 takes waayyyyyyy too long.

Look at is this way, Sure it takes awhile, but It will help you learn the maps. Also There should be less hackers who want to level all the way to 7 everytime they get caught

(Looms) #51

Well, i’m level 8 and still didn’t play a single ranked. Reason - i just give up after 30 min of waiting for a game.

(prettyStake) #52

The game has been out like what 3 days now? Take it easy guys getting to lvl 7 isn’t that bad or even that much of a grind. Its only been 3 days! Please don’t cater to the I want it now crowd.

(Rhyno) #53

The issue isn’t just getting to level 7 yourself. It’s other players. I haven’t played a single matchmaking session yet. No one I know has. Because there isn’t anyone to play. You sit in queue for 20 minutes then get bored.

No one is looking because no one is looking. Not sure how to get out of this doom, apart from some promised loot if you try to pick up your first MM match.

(smartIsland) #55

Level 7 is way too high, people want to play with friends and this is limiting the fun factor in this game. Furthermore, making it only link to competitive mode is absurd as many people are not going to play this mode and many people playing will not be level 7 for some time.

You are making it VERY hard to play with friends and this is making the game VERY annoying. This will have significant impact on the popularity of this game.

(smartIsland) #56

for god sakes why is there not a servers with friends tab on the filters at least

(keenPetroleum) #57

Just go to the server brower and join the same server, Then dont click return to menu button after game ends, and it will put you back into the lobby

(Looms) #58

Server browser is a lagging joke.

(KangaJoo) #59

they could always do ‘casual 5v5mm’ and ‘comp 5v5 mm’
Or they could just allow you to party up at rank 5, or straight away, and then allow matchmaking at 6 or 7.

(Eox) #60

This. I don’t get why I can’t be with my friends from the start. Imagine, you have just begun DB and you have all your friends who have a blast in a friend only game, you want to join in but : too bad ! You’re only level 1 and you can’t join them. You have to level up all the way from level 1 to level 7. Which is really silly in my opinion.

It’s perfectly understandable for competitive matchmaking, were you need to know more or less how to play. But for a friends vs friends only matchmaking, this is just wrong on all points.
