Would love to see it get dropped to 6 maybe. The grind between 6 and 7 is actually pretty long so I think this would actually be worth considering.
Level 7 is a little too high to unlock party matchmaking + solo matchmaking IMO
Yeah 5 would be good as well. I’m actually at level 5 now. Have spent most of the game so far being at level 5 as well.
Guess the idea is to avoid experienced players making smurf accounts to beat the shit out of less experienced players. Getting lvl 5 took less than two hours so I don’t think that would do if thats the actual intent. Ofc still being closed beta this isn’t an actual issue for now.
Agree, very upset that the move away from competitive play has taken place. It puts me a step or two away from dirtybomb
7 is ok. Sure it’s a bit annoying if you’ve been playing previously but if someone just got the key you don’t want him in ranked right away.
If you think about it, games like LoL make you play for basically months before you can enter ranked matches. I’m not saying Dirty Bomb should do that but getting to level 7 means you’ve played quite a few matches and aren’t going to be joining a ranked match with little knowledge of what needs to be done on the maps.
Sure, it’s annoying for all of us who have leveled up multiple times but if a new person started playing and within a couple hours they could do ranked and they still hadn’t played very many matches it could turn lower ranked into a pretty awful place.
Still haven’t hit level 7 after 7 hours played today.
Truly hope the level requirement might be lowered. I have friends who are great players but won’t want to grind to 7 to party matchmake.
i want everything in this game right now. but on the other hand i might play it for a resonalbe amout of time so no problem at all.
Think about it this way, Hackers will be less inclined to level a new character to 7 every time they get caught
I would hope that the level barrier is to do with making sure people are experienced enough, so a 5v5 MM is not frustrating for the good players when a clueless newbie comes in.
A hacker will have 2-3x max xp of the 2nd best player, so it will never really take much time for them to grind, and it just punishes players who aren’t so much into a 8v8 spamfest
If there is a low or no level limit to matchmaking (CSGO) people complain endlessly that it needs to be higher/have a set rank level to access. If you look at both DOTA2 and LOL they have level requirements to access matchmaking. I think level 7 is fine, if anything slightly to low.
Its not really that high I’ve been playing for about 9 hrs and Im a few games away
9hrs is to much when you want to play with friends … level 5 is much better imo
You can still play with friends, just got to the server browser and join the same server, you might be on a different team then them now and then but as long as you dont leave the server after the game ended it will just put you back in the lobby and you can keep playing like that, hell you can have 16 of your friends all in one server if you hit up an empty one and just all join at the same time then have random 8 v 8’s while playing will all your friends who are not level 7 yet
Open the server browser and have all you join it. Servers fill up ridiculously fast. It’s a good way to play with friends and you’ll get to level 7 in a few nights. And you can teach any new players how to play before they step into ranked.
there’s several hundred people who have been playing for years, you really want kids who haven’t figured out the objective style playing against them ? That’s not going to end well for most
I was only able to play about 3 games so far and am already level 5. It makes sense to keep the true newbies out of MM until level 7, since an above average player should be able to hit that cap in at least a day or two and a seasoned vet should get there in a few hours. Otherwise everyone would flock in at lvl 1 and people would likely become upset very quickly lol.
it would be cool if new players could “play level 10 for a day”. Like a one time deal for all new level 0 guys for some kind of weekend event or something where competitive games had one slot on each team for noobs.
bit like bring ur noob to work thing and then they will understand what to aim for and exactly how they need to improve. by getting wreaked
