Introduce Yourself!

(Christophicus) #101

Howdy everyone!

My name is Chris, and I hail from the Emerald Isle. I used to play a multitude of FPSes quite competitively, and even went so far as to organize and run events. That was quite a while ago though, these days I don’t have nearly enough time (cough or skill cough) to dominate like I used to.

When I do find some free time, I’ll be the guy playing the devils advocate on these forums, driving you guys mad by arguing points for a more accessible/enjoyable title for the majority or players :P.

I’ve been in the beta for around 24 hours at this stage, and have thoroughly enjoyed the absolutely walloping that I’ve been taking.
I’ll get better eventually…right??

I think I can, I think I can!
Chris

(Rushster) #103

I am Paul, I am the MD of incgamers.com and have been an avid shooter gamer since the first Wolfenstein days. The game I keep going back to week in week out is ETQW and play that every night when I can with my business partner.

I am lucky enough to play just about everything that takes my fancy when it comes out and have taken part in more beta and alpha test for stacks of titles over the past 15 years.

I have worked in the games industry since university days, set up the world’s first multiplayer gaming cafe in the early nineties, moved onto ISP game service management then decided to go it alone with my business partner which I have been doing now for many, many years

Based down in Somerset in the UK.

(SpynEs) #104

Hello people im SpynEs

Im 29 from Canada and have been heavy tournament gamer, playing professionally in Counter-Strike 1.5 - 1.6, starting with quake 2 @ LAN tournaments and then finding cs.

Im here because i played the demo of RTCW (best demo ever) and would have switched to playing it but iam a competitive junkie and CS had it all back then…the only other game/community i wish i had joined in its peak other than RTCW/ET was Ultima Online. So now i put my money down on anything related to either of those games to catch what i believe i missed out on.

some cs achievements:

·havok eXtreme - CALmain s11 Champions (hX, Heat, F2)
·havok eXtreme - CALpremier s12 3rd in Playoffs (GB, 2D, hX)
·havok eXtreme - UGSpro s3 3rd in Playoffs (coL, u5, hX)
·Devastation - CALopen s15 Champions
·Devastation - CALrazer (CPL Winter 05) General Champions

105-38-1 overall in CAL/CPL – reaching every level of them all.

Im now just bad.
but very opinionated.

(Patriotqube) #105

Hello im Carsten

Im from Denmark and almost 50 years old (6 days to go) I work as an Consultant Construction Engineer and as a Project Manager

My gaming history goes back to Commodore 64, still have good thoughts about Boulderdash

My gaming history on pc has been focusing on FPS Games starting from the old Wolfenstein, Spear Of destiny days, I can still remember the wow feeling i had first time i tried Doom, that was amasing. Multiplaying games has been RTCW, WET mainly and a bit of ETQW, i also tried COD or BF games + ofcours Brink, but i have always returned to WET which i has played nonstop since release, the first 5 years also comp on which we did ok in CB 3v3 and not so good in CB 6v6.

I have been 1 of the donkeys that keeps Qubenet Gaming Clan running since 2004, and we are still mainly a WET Clan allthough we always try out new games with servers and such, which is why you always will see me cry about linux binaries and good rcon tools

Enough about me, Im looking forward to try this game  tried it 20 minutes yesterday and died alot, well hopefully that will be better

cya on a server soon

Hello, my name is Enrique (Ecano). I’m from Valencia (Spain).

Engaged with games since ZX81, Spectrum, Space invaders… umm I’m 44 years old, two kids.

Jumped into FPS online games with ET:QW since launch day when I bought it by mistake, never play ‘off-line’ after that. The best mistake I can remeber.
Joined OxO team, later 3lack. And last days of ET:QW cups played with GunClub. A little bit Wolfenstein with 4Frags, and Brink with Insane Team.

I played yesterday a bit by first time, good impression.

(whitneyr78) #110

Howdy everybody. I’ve been playing ETQW since it came out, with over 2,500 hours logged. I play for the fun of it, and the great times with friends. I can’t wait for VOIP to be added to the alpha, it’s so weird not to talk to everyone.

CYA there!

(Stoffifee) #112

Hello there, i’m Stoffifee.

I’m 38 and from Vienna (Austria). I’ve been playing games ever since i can remember. Teambased online-fps allways attracted me the most and so i’m a big fan of RTCW (mp_beach bug-test ftw) and ofc ET (Nexus N3).

Hopefully db will be the desired successor. See you all on the servers.

(_sillywalks_) #113

Hi everyone, I’m the one doing the silly walks.

I’m 37 and live in Freiburg, Germany where I work as Technical Writer/Software Tester and Trainer.
As with Patriotqube, my first gaming experiences where made with the C64 and then various systems after that.

In general I enjoy any co-op/team based game (Borderlands, L4D, Natural Selection, Payday). Admittedly, I had most fun while playing Quake Wars.
I haven’t played much FPS recently, so be kind let me hit you now and then.

(BomBaKlaK) #114

O hai, Bomba

Yeah ! T bagger from outer space !!! :stuck_out_tongue:
some fun around the corner

(zeroooo) #115

hi,

im zero, 18 (soon 19) years old. i live in kronach, thats in germany  in my sparetime i love playing soccer and playing the guitar  and ofc playing dirtybomb :stuck_out_tongue:

im a former etqw player…

ive started playing tactic shooters very early… just with the age of 14 i started playing qw. i jumped in with demo, cause i couldnt get any beta key :frowning:
at the beginning, i just chilled on public servers merced a bit and so on, i started playing competition in quake wars for team extoo-gaming… some time later, i left extoo gaming, to start a new team with some good old friends, which was very successfull in the mid years of quake wars, this was about 2009 i think… after a few “quits and returns” i stopped playing qw i guess about 1 year ago…

i tried wolfenstein2009, and i also played brink,
Brink was the game, who all of us thought that it would save our asses. we played competitive in the esl. after some time, and also after some successes i quited the game caused of the low motivation and the game it self…

the last year was very hard for me in playing games… i just thought: “damn, there are no games, you can play in a competitive way, where u need skill, brain, tactics and aim…”
so one of my friends gave me information about shootmania…
i just got closedbeta invite in shootmania and started a team… we played the first esl cups and could even reach in the first esl.germany cup the final games…
but we quited playing shootmania very early, the elite mode isnt that what we want…
out of desperation i started playing mmos…^^

when i heared of dirtybomb, splashdamage did it again :stuck_out_tongue:

they took me again in this circle of euphoria… playing the alpha feels great,
i want to help, making it a better game. together we can do it, we could start a game, which is just predestinated for competition.

lets work together and build a great game!!

cu on pub

so long

zero

(luffeN) #117

Hi, my name is luffeN from Austria.

Started playing CS back in summer 2000 and have not stopped since. Got to a very good competitive level in my small country. Attended LANs and tournaments, sometimes placing amongst the top three. I hope that DB will get a rich community and many players to ensure the longetivity. I can still play CS but there are only some good servers left with most people not even owning CS 1.6 but playing a pirated version.

Go Splash Damage!

(SyncFx) #118

Hello,

My name is SyncFx from Canada.

Been a gamer since I remember, my first online game was actually on PS3 release with Resistance: Fall of Man and quickly got into competitive play on gamebattles. and slowly moved into PC gaming with CoD4 in 2007, then CS:S shortly after. Have been scrimming on both CS:S and CoD4 Promod since, now of course moved onto CS:GO and currently seeing if Black Ops 2 can be any sorts of competitive.

Heard of this game and it looked like a developer is actually serious about listening to the community to make a decent game competitively, so thought I hop on board and try to help!

(.-COM-.PAIN) #119

Hi all,
I’m PAIN. Been playing since Pong, Atari 2600, and Atari computers…

Played RTWC before about 6 years exclusively with W:ET. Just a pubber, no time for any serious comp. Played ETQW for a while and Brink just a bit.

After W:ET addiction came L4D2. Up to almost 1400 hours on L4D2.

Always had an interested with SD team style of play b/c of W:ET. Can’t stand any COD style of garbage.

Still waiting for the W:ET replacement, hopefully DB is it.

See you in-game.

(spookify) #120

Hello I’m spookify

I am from Wisconsin and love FPS’ers.

RTCW got me into the computer gaming world however I only played TWL/CAL Beta and OLTL comp as I really didnt know what I was doing.

My competitive game really took off when I started to play Enemy Territory (ET).

I was on TeamRAS >>> http://www.teamwarfare.com/history.asp?Keydata=Team+RAS
Season 6 TWL Beta Champs
Season 7 (Alpha) 2nd Place we Lost to u5

I tried BFBC2. Rocked Pubs
http://bfbcs.com/stats_pc/spookify

Moved onto BF3 and really like it but started to get banned from most if not all US servers… They said my HS ratio was to high along with my SPM… O well, once they updated the game to reward bad shots I quit. The buffing of Suppression was the final straw…
http://bf3stats.com/stats_pc/spookify4

And finally Black Ops 2… No Comp just raging pubs…

My YouTube
http://www.youtube.com/user/spookify

FYI I did buy Brink, ET:QW, and Wolfenstein 2009 but did not like them…

My Twitch has my computer Spec’s:
