Guess I might do it as well, just got my pre-alpha invite, downloading as we speak.

25 years old, from Sweden, studied graphics technology and design and working as a web/ui designer.

Played HLDM way back in the day, moved on to CS (<1.5 was the real mccoy) and then on to COD1/2 and 4. Currently playing TF2 at a fairly high 6v6 league (ETF2L).

We we’re (#allnoobs) actually undefeated with only two draws in COD1 TDM EU, both the ladder and a bunch of fall/spring cups. Finished 3rd on 2 LANS in COD2 (WHO Crew) and 1st in a few online cups. The team I were in COD4 we’re good and did go to LANs but never really accomplished anything due to none of us really cared for the game as we did 1 and 2.

Really interested in what DirtyBomb has to offer. Will try my best to give my input. (Obiously from a competitive esports perspective)

Hi Chippy, did you go by another name in CoD1 and 2? My clan used to play those guys in CoD S&D all the time

(chippy) #85

I’ve used “chippy” since HLDM so no. In COD1 we never played SD, at least I didn’t maybe some of the others did. Maybe you recognis some of the other boys? LeChiffre, Tappaja, ond_, marmite, metal, NBates, sloth, dadion, phasse, klax, hedra, those are the ones that I can remember from the top of my head.

(Anti) #86

Ahh, maybe it was before you joined then, I played against them with G2XS when WHO Crew were Ext, Kai, Kicker and people like that. These guys: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jBEZAU0oMuo

(chippy) #87

Ah yes. I never played with WHO Crew in COD1 only #allnoobs. We were really close friends with them though, still are! I still have some contact with kickR and slize. I’ll be looking for you on the field.

Just popping my head in to say hello, I’m sponge, been around for a long time, but I don’t post much on the forums. I am a distinguished IRC troll. I have no self control in spending my money. I competed a lot in W:ET, and was the head of the TWL leagues during the end of their run. I run a blog about pictures of dogs. I guess I’m also known from QUAKE LIVE.

I’m from the Dallas area, so I’m around for any east coast games. Seeing a lot of familiar faces here, so I imagine I already know most of the North American players here. Looking forward to it!

Hi, I’m 25 y.o, Greeting from France !

I started video games with the nintendo nes at 7 y.o, first fps was one old and most know as wolf 3d.

Got my closed alpha access today and havn’t get so much fun playing at since soldier of fortune II, so this is the real deal !

(mortis) #90

Ah yes, sponge, long time no see!

(ImageOmega) #91

Hello!

Excited to be a part of this. I’m the guy behind DirtyBombers.com.

I’ve been a long time FPS gamer starting with Wolf 3D and Doom. My first real multiplayer stint started with Quake 2. The early days of Quake 2 I played some 1on1 and LMCTF. I participated in all the local LANs and won a few tournaments. The later days I almost exclusively played Rocket Arena 2.

Once Quake 3 came out I thought I’d slow down with games, but that obviously didn’t happen. Most of Quake 3 days were spent playing RA3 with Team SIT. Team SIT was known as the best team out there for RA3 all the way up until we retired the clan.

Somewhere during all that I played RTCW for D|S and cK (at the very beginning of RTCW’s life). Later I got talked into playing UT2K3 and placed 8th at the Winter CPL. After more Q3, Team Fortress 2 finally released and Team SIT saw a minor resurgence for the early competition of the game.

There are many more games to list, but I’m sure that’s more of the same with a lot of you. Nowadays, you could find me popping my head in and out of QuakeLive Clan Arena. Now that I am lucky enough to be in Alpha for Dirty Bomb you’ll be seeing me more often around here!

Thanks!

Welcome new people! I hope to see some of you on during the NA evening hours. I’ll be back online soon, once my work schedule calms down a bit. Then, if any of you have even one iota of skill, I’ll be your favorite target. Just aim for the dopey guy spraying lead somewhere possibly near your general direction.

Hello people

Gaming for over 11 years now, starting in late 2001 with RTCW, then ET from 2003 - 2005. Played various other games, some competitively, specifically DOD (Day of Defeat) and UrT (Urban Terror), in fact played DOD for more years than all the other games I’ve played put together.

Registered here during my ET days, posted quite a bit on the forums (mostly long boring essays, why use a sentence when a few paragraphs will do I say), kinda disappeared when my ET days came to an end. Tried ET:QW, gave it up after a few weeks, didn’t like the big open maps, or vehicles, and especially hated turrets.

Came back briefly for Brink, quite liked the concept, thought the implementation was very badly done however and like most people dropped it pretty quickly.

Been bumming around in various games, mostly with my old DOD clan, looking for something else to play, been through the COD series, BF series, MOH, not really come across anything that’s grabbed us as a team (though we did manage to stick with BF3 for a while).

Not sure if DB will be the game for us as a clan, we’ll see, but the quick run around I had last night was sure fun.

Alright, so here is my introduction

I’m 20 years old and living in The Netherlands

I have been gaming for about 11 years now. I have played Doom, Duke Nukem, RtcW for a brief moment, but quickly moved onto W:ET. Since that day I was hooked and never found anything comparable. After W:ET I played some of the CoD games. I have been part of a few teams in CoD4. Played several other games like Bad Company 2, Team Fortress 2, Quake 3. Nowadays I mostly spend my days playing WoW and Minecraft. Oh I played Brink as well

(meat) #96

Hello peoples,
I have been playing for a while now started playing RTCW and have been hooked on FPS ever since. I played a lot of RTCW and ran 2 servers for several years. I got bored 1 news years eve and decided to start a Panzer party that night for my own enetrtainment go figure I had 16 people playing all night and then they kept on coming back. after tying up my beat up old HP pc for a week I rented a server for my panzer party, and then started a objective server not long after. After getting burned out on RTCW I moved onto ETQW, which I still play on occassion. I did a brief stint playing Brink.
For years I played under the name Meatman mostly in RTCW, and then under the name Meat-puppet. Now I have just shortened it to meat.

(potty200) #97

Hi I am Potty.

25 years old from London England.

Played Unreal Tourney, RTCW and Enemy territory all at comp level. Competed in several ET LANS around europe and even went into shoucasting for a while. I used to play brink when it was first released playing with some of the best players around europe before moving back to ET.

Now I am looking to get good in DB and play at LAN events (if seanza pulls his finger out on release!!!) If you are from the UK and wanna join me on teamspeak drop me a PM.

Loving the game so far and hope it goes far!

(Pytox) #98

Idk for some reason I didn’t post in this topic :D, thought I did but hey I’m Pytox and you can mostly find me at the irc channel saying annoying things.
Been around since w:et , mostly played pub games though not really been that much in the comp scene

Most of the times play l4d2 & DB now

(Dayton_Origin) #99

Hey there!

I’m Daniel, passionate gamer for over 20 years now and actually started gaming with a FPS, Doom and the likes^^

Brink was a game with a revolutionary concept of movement and had loads of interesting elements to it IMO, but was (no offense) rather poorly executed and stuck in a state where it couldn’t or didn’t live up to its promises. I am hoping that Dirty Bomb can change that, in a way that it is less unusual compared to other FPS but unusual enough to really make a difference. There’s lots of 3D shooting games out there after all.

Best of luck to the developers - hope you guys can fulfill your vision on this one

(sponge) #100

Hah, exactly what I meant  Hey there, hope all’s well with you!
