Hah, QW + dialup ftw
Welkam!
Ola,
AntOO here, bought the legendary pack as well.
A mid 30 old dutch guy started to game early with some Q3 and UT and later on to the great RTCW.
When ET came slowly moved and fell in love with it, the nights i looked on my clock and realised
there wasnāt time to sleep anymore where there allot
Played RTCW and ET competitively (Clanbase) in a dutch clan called BB4E.
A little on account of that started also working in the game scene at Lost boys wich later became Guerilla games.
I worked on a few titles but stopped when they went fully console only (killzone 1/2)
I also played Brink and had high hopes for it but the feeling just wasnāt there, hope to see Dirty Bomb succeed
and give my point off view and help as much as possible.
Also want to say hi to Warbie and HyperG, get Kamp over here boys
Hello
I bought the legendary pack as well to get access to the game. Seems like the game is coming along nicely so far. Itās very unfortunate that there arenāt many people playing though. I do wish you guys would allow more people in.
Anyway, Iāve been playing SD games for a while actually. I used to play Quake Wars a lot, which I think is a very good game. I also played Brink, which I thought was pretty good and innovative in many ways, although I felt the execution of those innovative ideas wasnāt quite as good as I would have hoped. Unfortunately nobody plays that game anymore.
So, Iām looking forward to seeing how this game pans out. So far it seems pretty sound. And Iām looking forward to seeing you guys around in the game!
Cheers,
Riho
Hi everyone,
My nameās Antony, iām 22, French, and i just got into the Closed Alpha since yesterday.
I started playing online First Person Shooters with Battlefield 2 around 2005. After that, i traveled a lot between Mw2, Battlefield Bad Company 2, Brink, Battlefield 3 and so on ā¦
Iām really hoping that with DB I finally get a Competitive game that I can play for few years
Cya on DB

Thatās the kind of background I like for an FPS gamer xD
Welcome here ! (for all newcomers)
Welcome to the new players, there is a fairly decent sized group using teamspeak right now. If you want to join us and have a chat while playing check this thread out: http://forums.warchest.com/showthread.php/36028-EvacZone-org-TeamSpeak-3-For-Dirty-Bomb-Alpha-Players
It is for Alpha members only though so do not share the info!
Hi folks,
Finally made the jump to Legendary after a few weeks of watching the dev videos once I got the Veteran pack.
My introduction to computer gaming was on a TRS 80 (raise your hand if youāre old enough to know what that is, Googling is cheatingā¦). Played mainly RTS until I came across Half-Life and I discovered FPS. CS was the first game I got seriously hooked on and I got heavily involved in character modding (made over 150 player models in 5 years before I retired). Played through the entire CoD series up to MW2 at which point I gave up on all the gimmicks. TF2 was my next love and Iāve logged over 2000h and counting.
TF2 also got me interested in games with more interesting art styles than the photo-realism mainstream games all seemed to be going for at the time. That got me into Borderlands and eventually Brink, which in turn introduced me to SDās objective-based teamplay which eventually brought me here.
So as opposed to many here Iāve never played W:ET and only tried the demo of ET:QW while waiting for Brink to come out. Iāve never played competitively either, but Iāve typically been able to rank well above average on the games Iāve played regularly. It should be no surprise that Iām not too interested in the competitive side of DB except as an eventual mean of promoting the game and attracting a larger community. I guess Iāll be one of the voices on the side of the pubers and more casual gamers. Doesnāt mean Iām against making DB the next competitive juggernaut, as long as itās not at the expense of the game being fun and attractive for the rest of us.

Welcome to the alpha
The problem here is that SD wants DirtyBomb to be played competetively with the same rules/equipment/etc as on public.
If we would get something like a ProMod i would be happy, but like that we will have many discussions.
That also nice, isn“t it?
Hi everyone,
Redtractor (31) from Poland reporting for duty.
After searching for a decent successor of the greatest RTCW / ET I found DB. After reading a few news about this game I was so intrigued that Iāve bought legendary edition without hesitation. And so far I like it. We just need more players
Regards,
Redtractor

Hi, Iām here a little late because I felt burned by Brink but I guess itās impossible to resist the allure of ET after all.
Hello everyone, NA player reporting in!
I look forward to seeing you all on the battlefield

Hello, another North American refugee here, attempting to escape from the island of horrible PC shooters.

Was fun meeting you on the battlefield last night, welcome!
With at least 2 new NA additions, I think itās time to try to setup a game night this side of the pondā¦
Lehsyrus here, from NA. Been an avid FPS gamer since I was 8, I am not 20 years old. Going to download the Alpha and get started looking for bugs, this game looks pretty smexy, and thatās coming from a CS player. Canāt wait to get started!
Welcome! Weāre looking for more NA players to setup a regular game night, feel free to drop in and post your availability:

Nail, I know youāre on the disability list right now, but you keep offering your services as a target, so youāre welcome to join in as well
After almost half a year of playing DB I think its time to introduce myself to the guys who dont know me
Iām Shifty, 25 years old and from Bavaria which is close to Germany.
Some might know me with different nicks:
Yoshimizu, Kleptomane, Chance, Kleppy
I play pc games since 15 or more years, started with Quake 2 and Age of Empires. The first couple of years I just played offline but since Battlefield Vietnam and Counterstrike Source I play online (2004/05). This 2 games were my first real online experience. Also Quake 3 is a part of this, but I didnt play it very often. My first competitive game was CS:S, played some scrims but didnt got flashed and didnt got addicted.
After seeing some promo vids of ETQW, I said, damn it, Iām gonna check this out. On release, I skipped my school classes just to get the game and play it from day 1. I was successful and got the game from day 1, played it till this year but lost from time to time the fun of playing ETQW. But from time to time I get the wish to play the game and thatās why the game never got uninstalled
Also ETQW is the real first game in which I took part in cups and ladders, wasnt that successful but it was the first step into the scene
The first game I bought after ETQW was Battlefield Bad Company 2, I liked it but never was eager enough to see the comp scene and get a team. I also tried 2 CoD games but it wasnt that fun. The last game I bought was Battlefield 3. I enjoy it as a pure pub game, just hop on a server, play 2-3 maps and leave it again.
I joined the Alpha of DB because I somehow have the urge to play a game competitive. Right now Iām a bit undecided between being a pub player or a comp player. Right now Iām sitting on the fence. One part of my heart wants a real nice comp game and the other half wants a decent pub game to spend a couple of hours on it. But overall, Iām pretty happy with the way SD wants to go with DB, know it is our part to shape the game to be one of the best games avi on the market
