In the news...

Well what we said would happen, happened, there is lots of very low quality leaked footage everywhere (not just youtube) and the only decent quality footage was the character customisation.

I have got to say it looks excellent.

Its just a pity that the PR people haven’t been sensible and release some HD quality footage, it honestly would reflect better and the Zenimax people wouldn’t have to spend so much ensuring the few vids on popular sites get taken down.

Its the nature of the internet, take 1 vid down and 2 more people will upload it.

Good one, Paul!

What an incredibly distracting picture haha.

NOW I know how the interrogation works!

“If you play through a traditional single-player shooter — the kind of mine-cart-style ones — the enemy’s always in front of you, and you’re witnessing canned cinematics,” Wedgwood said. “It just doesn’t prepare you for being out-flanked when you go online. If the first thing that happens is that, not only are you out-flanked, but it happens five times in a row, he teabags you at the end of each one and shouts “Homo!” over VOIP”

Best quote ever!

(tokamak) #88

Dude! You forgot the best part:

… Richard Ham, our creative director, is just obsessed with solving that problem.

Couldn’t help imagining Richard Ham, covering your flanks while you play and personally beating up everyone who calls you a homo.

Good one, Paul![/quote]

Couldn’t agree more that it’s a great buzz when you and your team all fall into place and things just work right. Doesn’t even matter if you win or lose, that feeling is still very pervasive.

Makes me sad though, reading some of the comments, it isn’t just a skill barrier Brink is going to have to overcome. New gamers seem to have cornered the Online FPS genre into douche outlet first and take the actual game as a means to an end.

I hope Brink can show that playing the game is its own reward and offers harsh repercussions to those who want to turn it into their own personal playground.

(Loffy) #92

In that article and in many others it says “spring” but has that claim been officially sanctioned? After all, 2010 is technically all the way to December 31. Just curious. I don’t mind waiting. (OK, I want it now.)

(Exedore) #93

At the end of the teaser video it sayeth ‘Spring 2010’.

(shibbyuk) #94

Of course, I assume you mean the traditional Celtic definition of Spring

According to the Celtic tradition, which is based solely on daylight and the strength of the noon sun, spring begins in early February (near Imbolc or Candlemas) and continues until early May (Beltane).

That Northern or Southern hemisphere spring though?

Upon hearing Paul mention that SD have worked on every iD IP except Commander Keen, did anyone else imagine how cool it would be if we were able to? No? Alright, let’s move on…
