[QUOTE=Maawdawg;272934]and another preview.

In addition to the tutorials leveling players up, Brink will also include other ways to develop players by offering tangible incentives in return. “We’ve also got these four challenge maps which is partly how you practice your skills, you can play them up to four-player co-op as well, so you can practice skills with your friends, but also that’s how you unlock the weapons,”
Ok, so what are these “four challenge maps”? Are these bare bones training maps not included in the 6x2 core mission and 2x2 “What if?” mission maps? Or are the “challenge maps” just another term for the “What if?” maps? The challenge maps would seem to be separate as they “allow up to four player co-op”. I thought all the maps could be played 1-16 players, all up to 8 co-op.
Lucy has some ‘splainin’ to do.
The challenge maps involve practicing some sort of skill. One challenge is a time trial through checkpoints using SMART, and I think another involves not firing a single shot the entire match.
They are challenge maps only for SP/Coop, rated from 1 to 5 stars (difficulty) automatically changing according to your level (more obstacles, lesser time, harder AI, etc.)
Slide 69 is from the Be More Objective Challenge, 3 Star.

And slide 74 you have to tame a furry dragon dog type animal and ride it off in the distance. That must be pretty difficult.
Thank you very much for not putting the challenges in multiplayer! A very good decision.
A couple more preview interviews.

I thought this was one of the better pieces. There isn’t tons of new info-- just some things about challenges and unlocks, really-- but it was nicely written.
I’ve been checking periodically for part 2, but it isn’t there, last I checked.
edit-- here it is!

Not exactly news, but gives a heads up on the marketing drive by Bethesda. I went to see Sucker Punch at Cineworld and they had a Brink trailer at the beginning! It was a re-work of the cinematic CG trailer, cut up and put to more actiony music… was good to see.
