I'm a Covert Op!

(Maple) #1

Do you hate it when you do an V,6 (while in enemy uniform) just to have a member of your teammate killing you? :bash: :banghead:

(Riftgarde) #2

It’s even more fun when they shoot you when you’re not disguised.

(LegoManser) #3

I can’t play any FPS without double checking my team mates now. JUST IN CASE.

Only one word for that…
HE’S A SPY!!! Oops, wow, thats… Disturbing… Is it an axis or ally? :stuck_out_tongue:

(diaper eater) #6

yea it drives me crazy, or they shoot me when im in uni on battery goin up to the back, and i say hold your fire, and they dont stop shooting, ARGH

hey sd are you gonna have like a permanant red circle above coverts heads, or leave it like it is now, kinda realisitic like because in real life you shoot anything in enemy uniform?

([=O=]SMYLER) #7

I must admit I feel for covert ops whenever I see a noob or the people who are obviously gonna be noobs for the rest of their lives as they have the IQ of a mango shoot the shit outta and actually run after, reaiming for the enemy with the BIG RED NO-NO sign on him and eventuially killing him. In this instance the covert op has EVERY right to call the offending dumbfucks mother as many names as possible before the next spawn.

BUT whenever most of us see an enemy uniform we instinctively shoot at it, very often that results in one shot at the covert boy follwed by a “sorry”. Now it is the shits whenever that single shot actually kills the op but in that case I HATE being called a noob or silly cunt or being informed that my mother does it standing up with sailors because of it.

In short EXPECT an odd shot from a teammate, shit how many of you, like me, dress up as woma…ah forget that. Yeah just don’t give the guy who has one instinctive shot (that may kill you) a hard time, accidents do happen.

LOL that chicken picture has the perfect text.

EDIT: Look at his shoes.

(Stee) #9

LOL, know exactly what u mean I find myself checking team mates in RTCW and UT2k3, it’s not even funny anymore.
:blah:

(Maple) #10

It just sucks when your team doesn’t understand the concept of CVOPs and they think everyone with the enemy uniform is an actual enemy.

I was playing the Railgun and I had a uniform… I go to open the door for my team and do a V6 so they wouldn’t shoot me… and they ended up shooting me after looking at me stare at them for a few seconds… The door ends up close and they blame the lost on me. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

(DrGratis) #11

That ‘chicken’ is a l33t covert ops undercover as a Noob… :blah:

(KamiKid) #12

I feel no remorse for any covert op. When you assume the position of covert ops you basically have 2 enemies. Dont expect anyone to be paying attention to you. Also dont rush towards your teamates in a threatening manner or that will surely get you shot in the head. spamming “I’m a covert ops” “I’m a covert ops” will not guarantee that either.

Also, if I kill a covert ops on my team by accident who is doing nothing but playing deathmatch I wont say sorry. If however you are a team player and are throwing smoke grenade on objectives, spotting mines, and are generally an asset to the team I will.

(oOZe) #13

Theres allways people that dont know the meaning of “i’m a covertops” , so I use 2 commands while dodging friendly fire .
“i’m a covertops” and “hold your fire.”
i actually spam these when walking on a certain beach in disguise and it actually decreased friendly teamkills by 12.3%

(ETplayer) #14

I wouldn’t give a flying fuck if u would say ur sorry [or not]…
Its a game, cant deal with the TK ? dont play covert ops, its as simple as that

(Steltek) #15

I play CovOps a lot and I can understand the reflexive shots that some people make. 1 or 2 bullets is fine, even if I have 10 hp, because I’d probably do the same thing. Whoever fires first and accurately wins the fight so having a fast trigger finger for what looks like an enemy (until the red circle, which takes its sweet freaking time, shows up) is okay with me. It’s the people who empty their clips into me or shoot 1 or 2 bullets, wait, then shoot a little more that absolute drive me crazy. I’ve taken to just turning around and hitting them twice as hard, assuming I wasn’t tk’ed. It’s never happened to me before but I’ve heard of medics tk/reviving covops in disguise. That just confuses the heck out of me.

There are some circumstances where I have no problem with shooting a CovOps with any amount of firepower. An Axis CovOps on Goldrush should ABSOLUTELY NOT rush the gold in the bank and definitely should NOT file when 3 MG’s, a flamer, and the MP40’s from the FOps/Medics all simultaneously beat the hell out of him. I saw one retard try this trick 3 times before we caught on and started to check for the red circle. That delay could of meant the difference between a rifle grenade taking out our MG’s and us killing another Allied player going for the objective. I can’t tell if he was being malicious and feigning stupidity or he was just a moron.

On a positive note, I’ve had the good fortune of being escorted to the backdoor on Battery. Any Allied player that shot at me (and there was sadly more than 1 while I was heading up the hill path) was immediately tk’ed :D. I love “victory at all costs” gameplay.

wtf are you talking about crack boy?

(Emon) #17

This is why I no longer play on FF servers. Idiots shooting me, stepping on my mines then complaining, etc.

(Rippin Kitten) #18

Whoa, now that’s a little drastic. Sure the TKs and pecking get annoying on pub servers, but is it really worth switching over to the Nerf version of ET? =)

 Another example of why TK/revive is bad

To be fair, CovOps is confusing at the best of times. The other day I was playing on a stopwatch server (something I don’t do very often). After one game I was switched from Axis to Allied side: game started (Oasis), and I as a medic was heading off towards the old city, following behind a Allied (friendly) Covops. He got in a fight with a baddie Axis, took his uniform, I patched him up, we went on. I jumped down to grab the flag - just as a couple of Axis spawned. I stood there thinking “um… which side am I on again?” and then they opened fire and blew me away. D’oh!

Just call me a n00b

I played Covert-Ops for an entire Campaign last night. First time I’ve really played it, and it was great fun!

On GoldRush as Allies, I’d get behind Axis lines defending the bank (by running backwards into them) and shoot them all from behind. They didn’t realise they were being shot from behind so I was getting 5 - 6 kills before they took me out. I got into the bank a couple of times but couldn’t get out with the gold, they had a Medic on their team who could spot me straight away every time, bastard.

Smoke Canisters are dead handy though, pity they don’t go off until a few seconds after you throw them. The FG42 is also a fantastic weapon for 1-on-1. I’ll be playing Cov-Ops a lot more from now on, that’s if my team isn’t already 75% Cov-Ops, which seems to be the case sometimes these days.

Had some gg’s last night. Didn’t get TK’ed once as Cov-Ops, and didn’t get a single complaint filed against me in 3 hours. I was stunned!
