I HATE CHEAP CLANS!!!

(The_Jesus_Zeppelin) #1

im getting sick of all the freaking clans online, and there are an unussual amount of them! but there all so freakin ridiculous. when there in a game all they do is help their teamates as long as there in their clan. its a team based game? right? or did i miss somthing? because all these clans are only so good because they have like one good member adn then to boot that they all revolve around that guy in game. they dont do anything but use online to practice their cheap techniqes, ive run into that clan of b real and destiny a couple of times and the crap they pull is unbeleivable. and the clans out there are getting just as bad as these guys.

im willing to say there are some good clans out there, hell ill even say there are alot of good clans out there. but im getting tired of trying to play a decent game and finding nothing but clan hosted games. im gonna stop typing because my pizza is here and i need to get fat!

clans can get pretty annoying. I don’t notice them much though because I play on servers with a lot of people (32+). In the chaos it doesn’t matter if you’re friends or not.

In other games though like Americas Army they can get fucking annoying. You’re right they usually revolve around one good guy who knows a few tricks. Then he teaches those tricks to his “friends” and then they all start doing the same annoying tricks. I don’t know about ET but in games where teamspeak is supported they really have an unusual advantage. They can talk to each other real time, reveal things to each other (you know who you are you ghosting bitches) etc. And if you have many clan members in your team then you have 3 teams. The opposing team, the clan team, and the rest of your team who is not part of the clan and all these three teams work for their own ends.

Clan hosted servers are annoying too. You get these asshole admins some times who finally have just a tad bit of power and they start busting your balls about this or that. Ey don’t curse, ey don’t do this, don’t do that. They basically want everyone in their server to play the way they like to play the game.

In conclusion.
Clans Suck. Just a chance for jerks to get together with other jerks to form a team of superjerks.

P.S.
Not all clans are bad. Some clan people are actually good at the game and they play well with others. Being an expert player myself I sometimes enjoy having clan members in my team because that usually means that they are not noobs. Those clans are exempt from the above statements.

if you ever come across b real or destiny i strongly suggest you leave, thos two little dickheads bust my balls everytime i see them, they join your team for like 2 secs to see where your sniping and then go and tell the other witht eh panzer, but it ussually doesnt matter what class you are, thay have their assraping little ways of getting around most peoples tactics.

another one of their little things they loe is misguided chat, never beleive anythign they say. its all bullshit. youll find that out fast. im done complaining about these assholes. once again im going back to my pizza!

midnite deliveries kick majaor ass!

In my experience I’d say 90% of Clans are “exempt” from your grossly unfair generalisations.

There are 2 things you all need to understand about Clans:-

  1. Clans rent servers from GSPs (Game Server Providers). Without this income these GSPs wouldn’t provide the public servers that you play on and which cost you nothing.

  2. Clans open up their servers to the public to provide you, the non-paying player, with even more servers to play on that don’t cost you anything.

So next time you jump on a server that hasn’t cost you a penny, and you see a few players with Clan tags, remember that it’s them, and others like them, that have put their hands in their pockets, directly or indirectly, to provide you with those servers in the first place.

And if you do end up on a Clan’s public server, and surprise, surprise, they want players on their server to play by their rules, then please either abide by those rules or STFU and go elsewhere.

Also on servers that are clan stacked i really enjoy going on the opposite team and shooting em to bits.
Best praccy you can get on a public server is playing when it’s clan stacked

Yup, I usually do the same.

This is the freakin post of the year. Very well said my friend!!!

I was going to agree with the initial post then I read Kendles reply and slapped myself with a wet fish.Well written kendle. :drink:

(L2|B4tt3rY) #11

Yup, I usually do the same. :)[/quote]

i love doing that, specially when they start asking u to be in tthere crappy clan or accuse u of having aimbot, the amount of times ive been accused of an aimbot on the LoW - lords of war server isnt funny. our clan dont stack but recently the majority of us have been on just 1 team to get our tactics together, but lucky for us we dont get noobs on the server, we get lots of people with clan tags and ex RTCW players and ^POTATO i mean PurposE :blah:

(ToeD) #12

i just kick ppl if they go hide somewhere or if they act clueless :o keeps the server clean and enjoyable
thats not cheap, its just getting quality for the money the server costs. if you pay for a server you dont want it to be full of clueless players. it only makes the game more fun to play with experienced players.
and for the sneaky things they do. if you have a sniper, why do you have it in the first place? you are able to take the panser out before he shoots  or just get a real weapon and help your team. :o

(Dingo19) #13

Well said Kendle. Post of the Year for sure. It should be made a stickey. :drink: :drink:

(The_Jesus_Zeppelin) #14

hmmm…

i guess i must be getting on the wrong servers, i tend to aim away from the servers that openly say clan hosted, even thought when i do go in those, theres not a single clan member. the servers i happen to go on, being an unlucky bastard that i am are always clan hosted and are really lopsided. dont clans have specific servers they play on against OTHER clans?

ok keyboard, not working, pardon typos

(Kendle) #15

Of course, when they’re playing a match (in which case the server will be password protected and you wouldn’t get on anyway).

But a lot of Clans leave their servers running in public mode for a lot of the time. They might not be called anything that would lead you to believe they’re Clan servers in the first place, and there’s no guarantee you’ll come across Clan members playing on them. Although, having said that, there probably are, but they’re not wearing their Clan tags.

In my original post I said there were 2 things to bear in mind. Well actually there’s only 1, and it is this:-

Unless you have paid money for the server you’re currently playing on, you have NO RIGHTS whatsoever to be there or pass judgement on who is and how they conduct themselves.

I don’t mean that to sound harsh, or suggest that there aren’t lame kiddie Clans here and there that act like arseholes and generally give the Clan community a bad name, cos there most certainly are.

But in general Clans are made up of people who take the game a bit more seriously than non-Clanners and are prepared to put their hands in their pockets and pay money to run servers, for their own benefit and for yours. I’d say that entitles them to a little more respect than your opening post gave them.

(Machine for to kill) #16

That might be true for this game because it is free, but for other games the servers are usually sponsored by the publisher. It’s the inherent cost of multiplayer gameplay. Of course the publisher doesn’t sponsor servers for ever. After a while it’s pretty much up to the community to pay for them. But by the time the game has gotten old and stale.

Clans open servers mainly to practice on them. To the ones that provide servers to the general public i say thank you, but in the end most servers don’t cost much. I know some can go up to $150 a month but I’ve seen servers for as low as 40 bucks a month as well. If you split that up 5-10 ways you’re not really paying anything.

If the admin gets annoying I do leave the server. I avoid clan hosted servers all together. Which is strange because having an admin always present should theoretically be good thing.

P.S.
We’re not going to agree on this issue because you are a clan member, and I am not. I think it’s best to just agree to disagree.

(Watchers Eye) #17

Ey don’t curse, ey don’t do this, don’t do that. They basically want everyone in their server to play the way they like to play the game.

:banghead:

A server owner is well within his rights to have rules for their servers (no cursing, no spawn killing, etc). If you don’t like the rules, you move on, but to complain about an admin fullfilling the rules laid out for a server is just asinine.

Well, I don’t know about all other games, but RTCW wasn’t free, nor were any of the Quake series, or UT2K3, or BF1942, or MOH:AA, and the publisher of those never paid for public servers either, as far as I’m aware.

But the point is they’re paying something and you’re paying nothing. It makes all the difference.

No I’m not. I was, but not anymore.

(rgoer) #19

You are mistaken. Massively Multiplayer Online games (the ones requiring monthly subscription fees) do provide publisher-sponsored servers, but most non-MMO games only provide “master” servers–servers that provide lists of other servers. These “other” servers are almost exclusively provided by people that bought the game, not the publisher.

(Wraith2k3) #20

The only FPS I know of that has (any significant amount of) servers paid for by the publisher is America’s Army, and thats because they need to be able to monitor content.
