Sometimes even ugly skyboxes take forever to render 
Its a pretty clouded night sky, it has a darkblue tint (but you can manually edit it later yourself if you want it to be much darker), has a great amount of stars, but most of them can only be seen if you zoom in with binoculars (pretty cool if I must say so myself). The moon is pretty high up in the sky, partly covered by the clouds.
I unfortunately cannot make animate the sky
But the stars do have a static twinkle effect.
How do you make the image? In the OP you mention the program to render it, buthow do you get the raw image?

Ah, so you basically base the skybox on an already existing picture from a sky… or ?

You basically set cloud layers, atmosphere layers, sun options, lighting options, adjust camera settings, etc.
To save the rendered picture, I right-click and save target as

Done - I hope you like it. I’ve saved it as .tga instead of .jpg
Download link is on the first page. The shader I made has a pretty bright light, but I guess most people know how to modify the shader anyway ;D
