well he doesnt work instore works at headoffice i hampshire and he is pretty sure this will be the date as shipping is been arraged for it coming in,when ive asked him before about release hasnt been wrong but could be wrong tho we will see soon enough hopefully sooner than he said would make me happy :smiley:

Given that Wils is the lead level designer and one of the founding members of SD, chances are he knows just a tiny bit more about the development schedule than some random GAME employee.

I read some replies to ETQW is postponed and release date is “When it’s done” article.

I now have a feeling that when it does come out, I will have to buy a new PC. The one I have now can already play doom 3 quake 4 prey. This is an overstatement, or understatement? of course. I’m implying that it will take forever to come out.

Also I read that some people hate the tagline “When it’s done” because we all have seen it before with Duke Nukem Forever.

If your PC can handle Doom 3, Quake 4 and Prey it should be able to handle ETQW as well. Maybe not at the highest quality possible, but at least fully playable. :slight_smile:

I don’t know if just had something to do with the way the game was made, but I could run Q4 SP at Medium 1024 x 768 fine on my old 9800 pro (I now have a 7600 gt that I got for christmas), but whenever I played online in servers with more than 10 players things would get pretty choppy.

Hopefully with the megatexture and the game being designed as online only from the beginning my machine will be able to handle 24-32 player servers ok.

Ya, it happened with my cousins computer, my comp can run multiplayer doom 3 or quake 4 choppyless and lagless.

I’m making a joke that the game will be released too late that my computer that could probably run the ETQW alpha stage now, won’t be able to run the finished product, because SD would have probably upgraded the hardware for the game.

ofc would like it yesturday.

i just hope its released before ut07 or crysis,
lots of clans are suffering at the mo from lack of games like this,
lots done the bf2 thing and are bored silly.

people seem focused on this right now,you wouldnt want ut or cry to move in and take that. :wink:
