I do care about the game, otherwise I would stop replying in ET:QW topics. The problem is that there is never a right time for everyone.

When I see a unreleased game out there that I think I want to play, I get hyped up. This year it is ETQW. Last year it was starcraft ghost (who know when it will come out). I would want it released tomorrow or closer to today, but at the same time I don’t want the game to suck. So I decide to wait. My only fear is that the game is postponed too long. And the news with the summer release (could change though) just scares me and leaves me shaking.

Delay game to look at new hardware or engine when game already started with old engine = WTF ARE YOU DOING? I’m talking about DNF and starcraft ghost.
I don’t care what school holiday its released, I don’t go to school. Just as long as my pc runs it.
Well the more later it is released, the more that the game will get old and cannot compete with newer games with new hardware and the more they will upgrade hardware to more recent hardware and the more your computer cannot run the game.
My comp is good excpet for video card. My videocard is just on the line to running the game with perfect framerate and running the game with slideshow framerate in high quality.
I assume your computer is super powerful with the best videocard right?
I know this because I saw the progress of Blizzard’s starcraft ghost. They were slow and have troubles with Nihilistic which developed the game with Blizzard seeing the development. Nihilistic ditched the game and development changed hands to Swinging Ape. Development was delayed for a few months to a year for a total of 3-4 times making the development 4 years. Blizzard announced in march 2006 that the game is indefinitely postponed.
When I first saw the development of the game, the graphics were awesome. As the years pass, the graphics look too old and people are complaining how it cannot compete with newer games.
I just hope that etqw development does not go too slow that technology advances further than ETQW itself.
W:ET is 3 years old and with outdated graphics, yet it still is one of the most played games online…

Imagine if ETQW gets released with outdated graphics. That’s a different story.
Most of the graphics talk recently is just pretty silly.
If we keep advancing, people will even complain “oh no, an incorrect shaded pixel!”
What I (maybe we) want is a good game, not necesserily a simulator.
Doesn’t matter when the game is or isn’t released, gameplay will always surpass graphics. If W:ET wasn’t released until last month it would still be a great game, last time I checked, it still has more players than BF2142. As long as the game is right, it can look like shit, besides all the 1337 tweakers will have half the pretty things turned off to get a few extra fps anyway.

i am from UK england and been told froma friend at GAME (game.co.uk)that it was for feb 28th but they are been shipped them for release on 30-Mar-2007 in the UK might answer soem of your questions

That’s the way we handle date predictions, or do you have proof that you’re info is 100% reliable? That would change a lot though.
