GG Tournament 2013

@ Seanza

dont get me wrong. i like those maps too. nothing feels better than winning an attack on Ark. well, for me its even better if i can defend successfully on quarry (not usual for someone who does not pick anansi since 1st obj). however this is not about me, its to avoid situations like one player having to defend quarry and attack on ark, having a much dificult task than other one doing the oposite.

@ Rex

i am not playing. but if they need help to do any task, just ask (like making the final score, or act as referee during games, its usual to have unexpected situations where referees are called to decide on something, whatever …). i am not taking part so, i hope i could contribute with fair decisions.
regarding your observation and myself - of course i would love to play that type of tournment. because many times, the actions required to win a map, dont give you enough credit (either by kills or xp). so often you see people attacking instead of defending and vice-versa. they have their share of responsability in a match outcome, but not the most important one (imho).

PS - this would be a waste of time if done among some ramdom etqw players. but when many of the better players are involved … its a whole new situation. i believe anyone would like to know the outcome of such games. and btw, why do it only once ? why not one weekend in europe, and another in america ?

Good luck on finding pro players for a pub mode! Not to mention missing prizes…

@edxot

no campaign

Im curious where was edxot few years ago when qw needed cups

Trying hard to become supreme.

Ark is terrible and always has been. I still don’t get how it ever got into the map pool, the first stage is either over on the first push or takes 15 mins to complete. The second stage is a just a mad lemmings rush for the mining laser, the final stage is okay but even then a good defence can hold the entrance inside the dome for some time. The whole map is one ball ache.

(Gvardman) #1167

edxot have you ever played atleast one 4x4 (I don’t even talk about 6x6) game?

(Shelly) #1168

Srsly, why do you guys always have to pick on edxot? Its not like he´s flaming anyone, he might have a different mindset than most but thats no reason for you to act like some primary school bullies.

not sure if i understand what you want to know. but i can try to answer even if it does not matter for anything.

just tonight i played 2v2 (2 maps).
if you mean etwqpro, i confess i did it only once or twice during all these years.
i played 3v3 and 6v6 wolf:et a few years ago (but not for long time). and that is the reason i would never get into the etqwpro thing. if i had to stop playing vanilla i rather go back to wolf:et than playing etqwpro.

But ETQWPro is more like Wolf:ET than ET:QW Vanila is, you can even have the ding ding headshot sounds

Dayum you really got work for that many red stars

(edxot) #1172

yes, but wolf:et maps are better (at least for me, because i know them, hehehe)

well, these competition 3v3 to 6v6 maps are too much stress. one single mistake and the whole team pays the price. i still remember last map i played in 3v3 wolf:et (more than 5 years ago). while defending goldrush, covering the back path i saw 2 medics incoming and said in ts: " they are all coming from back". guess what, the guy defending the front came to the back and left it uncovered. after all, they were not ALL coming from back (just the 2 medics), and their engineer was taking the shortest path.this mean, epic fail just because of one wrong sentence in ts.

i really prefer the 8v8 to 12v12 thing.i said i would go back to playing wolf:et, but didnt explain my self correctly. i would go for pub play, not competition. as i see it, these games with all 5 classes are much more amusing because there is more to learn. more possible strategies available, etc … u know what i mean.

Well I think your reasons are justified, since you prefer pub play to competitive play and that’s okay in my book! You do you

(edxot) #1174

it becomes a bit diferent if you play 16 v 16. have tried it once or twice during last weeks.

1st obj becomes much easier while the other 2 harder to complete.

but could be the teams, probably requiring more games to have a better idea.

(Rex) #1175

By the way Seanza you let yourself get trolled, if you haven’t noticed yet.

(Seanza) #1176

Or have I?
