yes yes yes
free DLC - too little too late?
I would’nt be surprised if bethesda pulled/pulls the entire SD crew off this game and we wont see any DLC or patches.
The game obviously stopped making any money.
You never know, if I was bethesda I sure would not pump any more money into Brink.
It’s just how things work in business.
Nah, Brink falls right in line with the kinds of game Beth looks to publish: Alternative & Fantasy RPG/FPS games. They are like a Sci-fiction/Fantasy Book Publisher rather than a Mass Market Book Publisher. You know what I mean?

If they do they are commiting suicide by game release!
This game is a good game at the core. Just needs more, more, more in the way Killing Floor had for example.
Lots of content released in small amounts for peanuts money, make the game cheaper on Steam and allowed to be downloaded in all regions (YES UK YOU TOO).
Then build a new following by word of mouth and re-reviews.
Not too difficult.
Please SD if there is any mercy out there, don’t leave the game to wallow unloved like QW:ET.
I thought current word of mouth about Brink was stay away until fixed or buy cheap used? And that was the middling stuff
You should be looking at the peak for image 1. What time of day were these taken (GMT)?
Obviously player levels will fluctuate so the peak is more important than the current. It sucks if you’re in a “Brink free zone” while the rest of the world plays when you’re at work/school/whatever.
Admitedly that’s not a very high peak either but hopefully if the dlc includes some patching and they throw in a free weekend or steam sale or something then things may pick up.
Of course I could be completely wrong too. Either way I’m playing for fun at the moment and having fun.
of course you are completely wrong, your optimism is suspicious, strange.

Brink doesn’t need more at all. It needs to be playable. Yes ETQW extra content would be absolutely marvelous, but it’s still a game and a half whilst no amount of extra content will redeem Brink if it’s not polished.
I got lucky and am now able to play it at least (thanks to Steam friends). Most important thing for me right now (and I am being selfish here) is not so much stable gameplay but balancing the game.
I noticed that some tweaks to spawn time and other stuff happened this week. So as we play the Devs are optimizing the game!
I’m afraid our and executives’ perception of Brink may vary greatly. We see Brink as a game, they see a revenue stream. How do you convince executives, who don’t play games, that a balance patch is more important than DLC ? We want a fun game, they want high number of sales.
As for Natural Selection 2… yes, I confused terminology. The beta is restricted to players who’ve preordered, but there’s no NDA and lengthy gameplay videos are regularly appearing on Youtube. We get detailed player commentary, every single bug and issue mentioned every time there’s a new build.
Still, the game already has a functional map editor, and players who’ve preordered are making maps. Best of these maps are officially added to the game. That’s remarkable. And it’s not a Slow Person Shooter - there’s PC version only.
Lol, if people would only play offline against bots they would have uninstalled the game within 1 hour
Speak for yourself, calling it not playable just makes you sound bitter. I and ALL on my PS3 Brink friends want MORE MORE MORE, we play daily (I have a good 100hours myself) and our main gripe is playing the same place with the same stuff over and over. Easily play every map for each side more then once a day. The gameplay issues dont hinder you from having a good game, YOU DO. We play with full teams all the time and often get couple hour long sessions in without too many problems, not enough to ruin our FUN.
There is SOOOOOO much Ark, we have only seen some core areas thus far and dont see how you couldnt have more then 1 map in the Founders Tower, the place is HUGE. The more Ark we see and play the better IMO, I want to see this massive place!

A map like Security Tower plays out different every time. We beat it last night against an 8 man team. Soo hard, but satisfying. I got stopped early in the night trying to beat it. If the new DLC is anything like the mighty Security Tower, I will be, da da dat da daa, love’n it.
Yeah I hope they are bigger maps and have a lot to them. I love all the maps but some are obviously “funner” then some others. I hate when people start to vote in a cycle and it ends up being the same places over and over, I still play but if the match isnt full of humans at the time I would rather backout then play Container City (or any other popular map) again… But the more maps the better, makes the cycle longer and adds some more flavor. Hope to at some point before summer is over to have atleast 12-14maps. That would keep me going for a while, assuming the maps are all good ones that is. But I am not holding my breath, just praying this game has more to come because IMO it will only make it better and better. Patches and Content all day!!!
As long as the information feed for new content isn’t like the upcoming DLC, I’d be all for that.
I’m pretty sure no one’s enjoying being in the dark at the moment with regards to when Agents of Change is coming out; especially since we’ve only got under 2 weeks left until the promised time has been officially missed.
Regards,
Nexo

While I would call it “fan labor”, that is awesome.
Bethesda likes to publish games that nearly it’s entire player base finds to be garbage, gets absolutely shredded in reviews, loses almost all of the few thousand players it had in just weeks, is a ****-fest coding wise, and is a laughingstock of the entire industry - considered by most to likely be the most disappointing game of 2011?
