Fix the Dirty Bomb Aimbot problem PLEASE

(B_Montiel) #41

Thanks for clarification ! Very interesting, I should update my knowledge on anti-cheats, I feel like being rusty now. In a sense, that’s normal because I have not faced strong cheating issues in games I played competitively since then.

And if they are never reported they will never be forced to make a new account. It also means that Nexon will be less aware of hacking. The more reports they receive about anything the more likely they are to work on it/find a better solution. I know an ingame report feature has been discussed and it is definitely on the list.

Until that time and beyond it if needed, please continue to report hackers if spotted. It can only help the game if you try and remove them. Not to mention any in game reporting would need to be checked by Support anyways. Many in game report functions are notorious for banning normal players because of false accusations.

No solution is perfect.

Here is small demostration how fun it is to play competitive games and get matched against cheaters. Just leave or ingore them wont work here. This is really serious issue. I’m afraid people will leave this game after these kind of experiences.

(GoobyOfPls) #45

I’ve yet to run into any hackers.

The only person that has been blamed for hacking in a game that I was in was myself

But MissMurder is getting anti cheat situated that I know of.

(D'@athi) #46

Yeah, you can’t get them all, especially not the private hacks on a “professional” level. But you can review players that are reported often enough, IF you want to spend the money and get some support staff trained for doing this, and by this get even unknown cheats/cheaters.
But that’s up for Nexon to decide, if this game is worth the investment. Without working hw-bans and thus recurring cheaters, it will be a lot of work and a lot of money to invest, I guess.
So let’s hope the best and fear the worst.

(Medserver) #47

I haven’t seen any hackers. Currently I’m level 10 with over one hundred hours playing. You just need to learn the maps. Then you learn they aren’t hacking, but owning you.

(Medserver) #48

I was just accused of cheating for the first time last night after over 100 hours of playing. The accusation made me happy. What a great compliment!

Then you’ll probably should stop idling in the menu and actually start playing on maps. Or better, open your eyes, ppl instant-killing everyone across the maps, insta-turning and headshotting you, wanting to gib ppl through walls, etc.
This all is happening, but you, please tell me more about your own happy place, thx.

Edith: PS: Sorry to be so nasty, but I am really fed up with this and all this nex-talking about “yeah we are working on it (…since over a month)” doesn’t help. If they really want to distribute a competetive shooter, probably the cheater problem should be more of a concern than making new blue-blingbling-cards. But probably the game was just overinvested too, I don’t know.
Thx. Your always-caring fps-freak.

I’ve yet to encounter an actual hacker, just a lot of Iron Sight Jockeys rocking M4s, 47s, and H-121s. Its important to remember that a lot of times the ‘cue’ of an Aimbot, is almost indistinguishable from an extremely skilled player. Why? Because in both you see what’s called ‘snapping’. Aiming, when looking for a hacker is not what you want to use to determine their guilt. Game Sense, Crosshair placement, movement, Sound Cues, and confidence are the bigger determinating factors when hunting for cheats.

Aimbotters typically have shitty game sense, which is why they make use of automatic targeting and firing cheats. They’ll lack confidence, often will camp with high DPS or high capacity weapons in the most unadvantageous positions. They’ll not process appropriate audio cues like an experienced player, and they’ll typically play with low energy.
-Conversely a player with good aim will be aggressive, use weapons they’re typically comfortable with using, will flank, have advantageous positioning, and process and react to Audio Cues quickly.

Wallhackers on the other hand will be balls to the wall confident. They’ll rush, prefire and use walls cover to their advantage. However, they will also have bad game sense, not process appropriate audio cues and react, will make use of high DPS weapons so they can capitalize on surprising their enemies, they’ll also have terrible crosshair placement.

People who use both cheats will alternate between the two without consistency.

A good player, will not.

I agree with this whole post really. Snapping can be used to determine if someone is botting, but only if broken down into frame by frame playback as an aimbot can snap across the screen in a single frame I believe, which is not something a real player can do.

BUT, they can do it pretty damn fast if they’re good enough, just look at this guy, in any other game he’d be called a hacker.

Some people are just really good.

(D'@athi) #52

Really good people don’t explode when they are exposed to sunlight…

And yes, Quake1 in various versions, mostly glquake, quake2, mostly actionquake2, quake3, mostly quake3rocketarena, quake4 (nah not really, we had a server but mucho bado performanco at this time), been there done that. Probably even had some better than average reactions and aim these days.
Still none of the real pros (take “ocrana” and “bug” out of it, they were … cough) insta-nailgunned anyone across the map, followd people through walls, etc.
As I said, these things happen every day in DirtyBomb and the least we need, is an ingame-report-funtion. Even if people are earliest reported to humans after 10 reposts or so.

(scrub_lord) #53

I’ve only played against 1 blatant hacker and 1 closet using triggerbot and wallhacks so far in 70 hours of gametime.

(Ghosthree3) #54

Triggerbots must be quite hard to identify. I mean, they are doing what players are meant to be doing…

(brawnyJester) #55

No they don’t

Ironically I haven’t encountered any legit hackers since Open Beta.

(Ghosthree3) #56

Hm, explain what they do then since I only have a brief understanding. From what I know they just start shooting whenever you crosshair is on a target, which is what players should be doing anyway.

You have to have perfect, instant reaction timing to be able to pull that off and if you did then you’d be able to keep your crosshairs on target 100% of the time anyway. It’s easy to identify when people use full auto weapons, because they never spray and only shoot in random intervals when the crosshairs are over you.

I’m uploading the footage to Youtube atm.

(Ghosthree3) #58

What if it was programmed to delay a random amount between 50 and 150ms before firing and 100 and 200ms before stopping?

(scrub_lord) #59

Then it really wouldn’t benefit the user if you added such a long delay. You’d be better off just playing normally.

(Ghosthree3) #60

It would benefit some. I’m sure there’s a sweet spot somewhere that’s human but top end.
