Exclusive Gameplay Video from Games Convention 2006

(U.K.Visuals) #1

sorry guys, we had to remove our videos from our servers due to wishes from acrtivision. Filming on the GC was not allowed by Activision. (we didnt saw any sighns).

For those of you who speak german the official statement:

Liebes PlanetQuakeWars-Team,

And there’s Activision again. Thank You Activision, we sure love you :disgust:

Damned LAWLyers. Look, I just coined a new phrase! :moo:

(Desoxy) #4

Yea … SD also seemed to have a huge problem with gameplay videos, they immediately asked the links to be removed from their official forum. sarcasm

If EA did not allow videos from the Betafield 2142 I could understand that because every non-official video must cost them several copies not sold, but footage of QW? Please, they do great in showing off the intense atmosphere the game will feature (far better than the trailer imo) - why can’t Activision appreciate the free publicity? :moo:

Because they have a release schedule for media to create anticipation for the release.

Relax, if you wanted it you more than likely already downloaded it - if not download the tutorials and watch, then go away and do something else. It’ll be 2007 in no time :lookaround:

A translation of the said message from Activision would be great.

They have no legal basis to ask for the movie to be removed. If you for some reason are afraid of legal ramifications [that cannot happend] there is always a lot of solutions we can do to guarantee the spreading of the movie to all fans.

I for one would like to see it.

… That video was BOOOORING :frowning: … You hear a part of the (German) Tutorial and you field ops deploying Anti Pers. Turrets (AFAIR) …

I’d like to see a video proving that strafe jumping is possible…

(U.K.Visuals) #15

the guys from splatterladder recieved a mail too…

(Joe999) #16

that video was awesome, especially the way the strogg was using the air vehicles to get to higher ground and call for airstrikes. the way he got down from the first hill totally rocked. whoever was the player, he for sure didn’t play the game for the first time. the movement was totally smooth. that vid made me want the game right now.

(U.K.Visuals) #17

get it as fast as you can: http://doom3.planet-multiplayer.de/download.php?view.708

(Joe999) #18

i seriously do wonder what activision’s problem is. first the www.enemy-territory.com incident, now we aren’t allowed to film some gameplay?

if it weren’t for the vidz of the fans, we would have no info at all except for a screenshot every holy time in some magazine that is only available in this or that country. they don’t even send newsletters for which we registered more than a year ago.

(RosOne) #19

If you’re not GameSpy/IGN/FilePlanet or GameSpot you shouldn’t even be thinking about making a video.

Btw, I heard rumors Activision will sue you if you use more than one of their trademarks in one post. Scary stuff :eek3:

Activision just repo’ed my F2 key because I watched a previous video of Quake Wars.

The above statment is a joke and is not intended to reflect poorly on Activision, its employees, or any other person living or dead. The poster claims no responsibilty for any damages resulting in the above statment being read, spoken, or translated into braille. No tapirs were harmed in the making of this statement.

I didnt download this video because I was getting like 20k a second… now I wish I had since reading Joe999’s review of it. That newest link doesn’t work. :frowning:

I would love a monthly email with maybe a new screenshot. I’m surprised they don’t tap this useful business asset. For all the money they spend on advertising, this is like a list of people that signed up for your ad, and are going to read it. A wasted opportunity for them imo.[/quote]
