evidence of cheating

Where the f*ck are you pulling narcissism from? I don’t think XP Farmers are deserving of their profits and that makes me narcissistic, rightio mate. No, I do not think the game is meant to be played 1v1 but I sure as hell don’t think it’s meant to be played by holding down the F button for C4 Farming.
Well, when someone basically says you’re ‘undeserving’ of getting credits because you’re such a ‘casual’ I think that’s due causation to call someone no life. And how is it hypocritical if I’m on a gaming forum? Ahh… the logic of people who don’t think enough.
Give me one example of where I said he didn’t deserve it because he was casual, in fact, give me an example of me using the word casual before this comment, come on, you can do it.
Oh my goodness, you’ve never heard of the word ‘implied’ have you? Here’s two lines I’ll reference: “if you wanna sit there and press F while you stroke your @$!# about how many credits your getting”
“I’ll be too busy deserving my rewards”

From the first line, you’re basically assuming that they’re only farming points to stroke their own ego and is, in gamer terms, a casual, who is basically someone who doesn’t play the game in the ‘right way’ as determined by veteran and obsessive players (such as yourself). (which is quite narcissistic to assume as there’s no evidence that they are doing it for their ego. Care to think why ego was something at the top of your head?)

From the second line, you’re implying that only by playing a ‘proper game’ are rewards “deserving”, which means that getting rewards through any other means is undeserving. Ever heard of the “No true Scotsman” fallacy?

Jeez, arguing with you is too easy, it’s almost like I’m teaching you. I think I should stop, lest I actually manage to pass you knowledge.

The point of any reasonable debate is to attempt to convert the opposing party to your way of thinking, an ideally, the most moral and rational argument (or the best balancer thereof) will be the better argument.

Stating that you do not want to teach the other person why your way of thinking is the correct way and, (not targeted at you specifically) their way is wrong, or otherwise backwards, is the start of a backwards way of thinking in itself.

You may as well join the westboro baptist church or the modern left progressives on tumblr, your argument will have the same merit.

“Implied”? What? Why are you implying that I’m calling people casuals because I don’t think they deserve rewards, you’re just making sh*t up now aren’t you? If you want to talk about logical fallacies, how about strawmamning and deductive fallacy. All you’re doing is putting words in my mouth and trying to beat me up with them.
in other words, it’s “cheating (or ‘gaming’, see what i did there?) the system”

system says you get credits when you finish missions.
system doesnt say you cant farm, and it cant really enforce it anyway.
so, even though there’s an unwritten rule that says “no farming”, since its not in the rulebook, you can do it no problem.
cheating the system
its not “cheating” its “Countng cards”

Its not AGAINST casino rules, you make money by winning blackjack games

so even though theres a unwritten rule againstcounting cards, since its not in the blackjack rulebooks, yo can count cards in vegas no problem.

Okay, so what makes you write the word ‘deserving’ in the first place? You’re separating people into categories, people deserving and people who do not. It’s not much different to putting people into two classes of citizenship, those who deserve the right to vote and those who don’t. But seriously, I think I will leave it at that, your way of thinking will be hilarious for your future.

Again, bloody rubbish. How much more are you going to be strawmanning me before you provide a proper argument? Tell me exactly how saying “people that cheat the system don’t deserve their profits” is like categorising who deserves the right to vote and who doesn’t? Funny that you criticise my future when with that random, easy-way-out, slander-the-disbelievers mindset of yours, it doesn’t look like you’ll have one to brag about either.

Much love, -gg2ez

How are they cheating the system? They’re just doing what the missions state. Get X xp.

My future is pretty bright tbh. A recent graduate and already got a position that pays more than the average graduate role.

They’re cheating the system because they’re not completing the missions the way the devs intended. They created a first person shooter, not a first person farmer.

Good job on graduating, I mean, unless you took the easy way out on that one too.

Thanks, I’m a Computer Science graduate.

I think if they were to cheat the system, it would be somehow getting xp missions done in a solo match. I don’t think the devs really care about how you get your xp. Of course if they really didn’t intend you to be able to get xp with low players, then they could simply have warm up until x% of players enter the server.

please read my counting cards example.

“The casino doesnt care how you win since youre not technically cheating, just cheating the system”

(extraordinaryEmperor) #56

If it’s not against the rules, why is it cheating the system? That’s like saying if you keep a record of what cards your opponent has played in Hearthstone, you’re cheating the system.

If it’s an ‘unwritten rule’ that sounds more like etiquette more than anything. Not cheating the system.

Cheating the system is like filling in a form saying you’re an indigenous person to get extra welfare or something, when you really don’t classify.

Also don’t post me a 16min video without highlighting what part I should be watching.

again, ill use counting cards in a casino as an example.

Almost no casinos have the rule written “You may not count cards at the tables” but do have “You cannot hide cards in your sleeves and cheat by swapping your cards”

However, counting cards is often considered cheating, which it is, and if you are caught counting cards you will be thrown out at the least, and (quite likely depending on how much youve won/how many offences) banned from the casino for life.

even though something isnt specifically stated as being against the rules, it can still be cheating simply because you are getting an unfair advantage while still technically playing by the rules.

The problem is, does it even matter if they farm xp in a quiet game? Levels don’t do anything, so even assuming that they are boosting their own ego, let them be? It’s not like they gain any unfair advantage. Wouldn’t it be no different to play with pistol only or knife only or even defib only? I’m pretty sure the devs didn’t intend the game to be only played with one type of weapon.

You can also be kicked out for winning too much money. I guess being lucky and winning in poker without even looking at your cards is considered cheating then.

I don’t know too much about card counting, but taking a brief look, it’s literally just looking at what others have vs what you have, so how can counting cards be cheating when you’re just working out whether it’s statistically more advantageous for your to try to hit, split or w/e. So how can you cheat? Why don’t everyone just not show their own hands?
