evidence of cheating
@gg2ez Quick credit gain while waiting for people to fill up the server?Mission completion

Nobody cares about XP in this game, sure isnt me.Only important thing is credits and if you can do it easy, unharming. Why not?
“If you can do it easy”? Are you a man or a mouse? Jesus Christ mate, when did games become so meaningless? Honestly ask yourself what you’re doing, it’s pathetic. If you’re too indolent to accept the intended challenges to get what you want, why play the game at all?

If you’re taking the easy way out instead of challenging yourself, you’re literally sharing the exact same mindset as your average script-kiddie aimbotter.

@Ballto

Think seriously about the amount of work that would need to be put into that.

I don’t need to think seriously about it. I’ve seen it happen many times.

I’ve written a lot about this topic on this forum in the past. Use the search function if you’re interested in the details. But as a person who was not only a multi-time invite championship winning league and tournament player across a few games but also the head admin for multiple leagues in CAL, helped run the CPL world tour and was the head of global anti-cheat for both I have been down this particular road as a player and an admin and I have the experience to know just how harmful a public name and shame policy is. Especilally one that is completely unchecked and has little to no accountability or credibility for the people involved. There is a lot of very good reasons why it’s not allowed on most credible websites and most of it revolves around protecting players and not cheaters (a common thing thrown around by pissed off would-be angry witch hunters).

So that might or might not convince you to take my word on it but my view is that a public name and shame for companies like Splash Damage and Nexon would be incredibly harmful and would only help people who enjoy the witch hunt and want to feel like they are doing something as opposed to actually doing something that helps.

It’s good that you want to help and feel passionately about it. But you also have to know there are a lot of other factors involved. If you want to help then report people who are cheating in game or make a ticket. You can even record a video and submit it if you like but a lot of the “proof” is easily viewed in the statistics. People who review such things have much better tools than you do to make the call on banning somebody or not.

BTW, I only listed my credentials above to add weight to my experience that I do know what I am talking about and am not just talking out of my ass with a theory. I’ve been there and been personally involved many times before and I’ve seen it all. And it’s a mess and a nightmare all around and each situation is different which makes things even messier.

@gg2ez okay?i believe there is something call “playstyles”

(gg2ez) #24

Pressing one button over and over again is a playstyle is it? Look mate, if you wanna sit there and press F while you stroke your cock about how many credits your getting, I’m not gonna stop you, I’ll be too busy deserving my rewards.

(Jostabeere) #25

Yeah, because by completing the objectives as fast as possible with only some friends who let you do this you get a shitton of credits, right?

“Deserving my rewards”. Sounds like someone who doesn’t have any real hobbies. It’s really sad seeing people needing to bolster their ego by artificially making their gaming experience more difficult.

“Deserving my rewards” Sounds like someone who doesnt have any real hobbies. It’s really sad seeing people needing to bolster their ego by artificially making their beer brewing experience more difficult.

its more or less fact that, for the vast majority of the population, hard work in something they are passionate about, be it a hobby (gaming, beer brewing, miniature making/painting, hiking, etc) is more fulfilling than the easy way out.

Sure, i can buy the basic liquid for brewing beer and just add some crap and ferment 9i dont really know beer brewing but i assume you can buy already started stock with yeast and such and then add other things for flavour before letting it ferment), or pre made miniatures or paint by numbers books, or just go on a ten minute hike, but if you actually enjoy your hobbies youll brew your beer from scratch, buy models in the molds with individual paint pots, buy a canvas and some brushes, or go for a several hour hike and take pride or general appreciation in what you create or do.

I gaming, all of the fun is finding a way to best create your own strategy to do spectacular and counter pretty much anything else the game throws at you. Now you could be super cheesy and learn how to play fletcher or nader to god tier, or something more complicated like bludgeoning everything with a cricket bat as a rhino to be god tier, but sitting in a corner arming and disarming c4 with a mate is only upping an arbitrary number. Sure, youll have a level 90 character and earn 10k exp in an empty server, but youll probably not do well against literally any other player in a populated server. If thats your definition of fun, i would play 2048game.com/. Youre getting an arbitrary high score by just mashing arrow keys

How am I “artificially making it more difficult” when I’m playing it the way it’s intended? If the only way you can provide fiber to your actions is by making negative assumptions about your opponent’s choices, you’re not really giving yourself any merit are you? Come on mate, give me some good arguments instead of acting like a cornered dog.

gaming is a hobby. fuck, gaming is a fucking SPORT. and guess what so is poker, but poker counts as a hobby somehow.
also, dont pull the “you have no life” card, man, especially not in a game forum. makes you look like a dickhead hypocrite

(blisteringOwlNest) #30

While I am defending the farming dude, I’m not agreeing with any negative statements or insults he’s making.

Basically, I see where he’s coming from. Personally, if I’ve spent ages joining a server and the it turns out its me and two other people, I ask if anyone has any missions. Then we farm for them because why not? Sure it’s not playing the game properly, but it’s not like I play that way all the time. If they don’t we usually have a knife match or something.

For me, in OPs example is stupid, as it’s obviously a server full of people who want to play the game, and farming then is stupid, because not everyone wants to do it. But, for me at least, if you have the opportunity to finish of a mission you might as well. If you don’t want to and want a real match, then you wouldn’t hang out on a server of three anyway.

(Xan) #31

@blisteringOwlNest literally what i been trying to say

(MilkyBear) #32

Well i understand why OP is mad, i also mad when i joined a server and there are 3 or 4 guys farming xp instead of playing for real. But the thing is, on Xan defend, sometimes you got yourself into a server with only 1 dude. Sure we could go 1v1, but it’s no fun that way, so we could help each other by earning some game mode exp to get rid of that mission WHILE we wait for people to join so we could have a real match.

(gg2ez) #33

Or, you know, funny idea - not join servers where you can’t have a real game. The server browser has a player counter for each server y’know.

(Xan) #34

@gg2ez Or when there is only servers that are full or empty, and you have mission, and you cant join any server? There is always a need to fill up a server,or it’ll just be empty forever

(MilkyBear) #35

^ This

(gg2ez) #36

Srs m8? Here in Australia, we have the shittiest player distribution ever and there are never just empty and full servers.

Maybe they’re doing it because game xp is sometimes hard to get when you’re on the defending team and there’s not much actual ‘game xp’ to actually gain. Or when you’re attacking and you’re competing with your team to get game xp?

Lol, ‘cornered dog’, such egoism from you, which I already affirmed from your ‘deserving’ comment. I don’t know about you, but I didn’t realise that this game was meant to be played 1v1. If two people have missions to do in a nearly empty game, how is it not artificially making it difficult by playing as though it was a full server? But sure, let’s see what other narcissistic comment you can make, come on, you can do it.

Well, when someone basically says you’re ‘undeserving’ of getting credits because you’re such a ‘casual’ I think that’s due causation to call someone no life. And how is it hypocritical if I’m on a gaming forum? Ahh… the logic of people who don’t think enough.

(Xan) #38

@gg2ez Well,that’s asia

(gg2ez) #39

Where the f*ck are you pulling narcissism from? I don’t think XP Farmers are deserving of their profits and that makes me narcissistic, rightio mate. No, I do not think the game is meant to be played 1v1 but I sure as hell don’t think it’s meant to be played by holding down the F button for C4 Farming.

Give me one example of where I said he didn’t deserve it because he was casual, in fact, give me an example of me using the word casual before this comment, come on, you can do it.

(gg2ez) #40

Even if Asia = Empty servers, Empty servers does not = the right to farm. You’re getting profits in a way it wasn’t intended. In a game, that’s cheating. Look, dude, I think you’re an okay guy but I still think farming is a huge waste of time.
