ETQW Community Site = Fanboi Central

Anyone get the flooded feeling of fanboy’s when reading the community site forums? No real content compared to this forum (or going back over what we went over months prior) I think I’ll stay safely here.

People are just excited about the opening of the community site. Nothing wrong with that IMO. I’m sure it will die down a little…well, until the open beta?!? or demo is released.

It certainly is a lot quieter here though, I’ll give you that.

It certainly was considerate of them to open the other site, takes a lot of pressure and whine/spam out of these forums. In hindsight, I kinda wish they had of done it a month ago :lol:

The site has only been open for a couple of days for a game where no beta, demo, or retail version has been offered. How deep would you actually expect the content to be?

I would think SD are happy to see so many people have registered there as it shows the amount of interest for ET:QW there is and just because most of them seem to be new to ID games i dont think its a bad thing.

Nothing wrong with being fan of the game but some people, well what can I say, they show an unhealthy passion for something they know barely anything about.

hey, i’m new here as well !

but it’s always like this. there will be dev company message boards
where all the “veterans” converge and have deep and meaningful :shock:
discussions (<-irony) and the publisher/commercial/tie-in website forum
for all the ones who don’t bother to investigate further.

like gsc-game for STALKER
or ttlg.com for Bioshock

i would never visit EA or 2K forums when i can post at the dev’s site.
well i hope to find good tactics, screenshots and vids here once QW is out
and i hope to find a good EU clan as well since I’m definitley going to
play this game ALOT

I think the problem is that you cant tell which are fanboys and which are the fans yet. I guess it takes some time to adjust to the new forums and get to know the ppl, let things fall into their place.
Plus, once you get to know who are the fanboys, you can just fast foreward through their posts

Maybe the spam is the real problem. So many useless comments

I agree, its spam, post count freaks. It happens on new forums all the time. Who has the highest post count wins something? There is some decent discussion, but very little.

Allot of the same threads that were posted here have shown up as well as some of the same people. I think it was really cool for them to launch an official community site that will be good for news, events, etc. Everyone is just real excited and other than whats been said already, until there is gameplay experience, there’s not much to talk about.

There is allot of bs threads, but I don’t read them all, just the ones that are interesting.

I did a search for ‘beta’ on the other forum. The result of that search has urged me to now avoid that site till at least 4 months post release. Nearly every topic is of the same aul shite. At least here you still get the odd legit question and a bit of craic.

maybe you can only use an avatar pic when you’ve got a certain post count (as other forums have done), this could explain alot of the spamming

i can. just think of that guy who made that quake wars delay vid, he is definitely nuts. all he could have seen at that time was only some screenshots, articles and two trailers. that’s crazy tbqfh :uhoh:
