This is my Xreal Map Test, These are Castle Textures from RTCW, I Created Bumb/Specular Maps in Gimp

Copy/Paste Does not Work
Random Map Corruption (Spawn without Brace)
BSP BUILD should be in Editor
No Sun Plugin (Map Coordination)
There is no Func_door_rotating
Nearly All Texture show as “Shader_missing” e.g. Caulk
no Caulk tool
Texture Browser is annoying

I was Hoping to Create the First Map of Wolfenstein 3D for Xreal-ET to use as a Tech Demo for all Features of the Xreal Engine, I have the layout in my Sig, I just need Higher Quality Castle Textures.

Question:

Do ETXreal Map need the -light Phase if the light is Real Time

We have multiple people working on the technology behind it, and we can oversee all forums and such. If you want high quality textures, you can use the Git system to download new textures and such. If you wish, I can help you on IRC to configurate and install everything, so you can build in ETX radiant and see the changes in an HDR enviroment.

Someone needs to make a decent editor tutorial if you want this ‘engine’ to be a success… since it’s not the same as Id tech 3 powered games (material parms and stuff)
While in the video it shows some good stuff (lightning wise), it also shows something horrird… I guess it’s BSP fault

Anyway, I’m going to do some tests with it. (since it supports doom 3 map format). Will post screens soon.

Btw, You can’t preview light in editor… wtf all black


edit: now all needed is new materials and remake all maps and models.

FFSturm’s screen is much better than all you guys have send untill now.
Why do you remake ET to look almost the same but worst? Please improve graphics, there is no point in making square-based maps without AA etc…
Everyone hates CoD and BF but you should focus on making this game more popular…

Bumpmapping, specular, diffuse maps in texture. Engine sems to work like Doom 3, but smoother.

Since it supports doom 3 model formats and map format, It would be easy to port all my assets to xreal:et.

Good job with the engine, surely underrated.

ok, I have noticed that md5 doesnt work in-game. Dunno why, but it works at least in editor (basically because it’s darkradiant editor… lol).

any ideas? It wont take time to port all md5 to md3, but…

This looks like a broken or wrong lightmap. Not so much an engine bug.

@ Mapping for Xreal it is pretty much the same as ET imo, only thing we need is a nice Shader Manual…
There is this one:

But it is not complete, Xreal seems to have lot’s more nice features, but they are not documented… (Well I’ve heard you can find the documentation between the code…)

The game already runs at 125 fps… But it all depends of the new maps with new assets.

Don’t Bother Downgrading the Models to MD3

Here are some MD5Mesh/lwo Models from Doom3 that work fine in ETXreal

lol didnt notice about the fps xD but i can tell you that it runs smooth.

edit: It just uses 2 real-time lights. One is ‘Orange’ and the other is ‘blurish’.
One of them cast shadows while the other just works as softshadower (in other words, it works as an ambient light)

if you are going to use realtime lights, keep in mind Id tech 4 behaviour (the less the better)
