FFSturm, you did some nice work there. I don’t know if those textures are your own, or that they are from Doom 3, but it does give a nice example.
It’s true that most of the background info about the technology is only available on IRC. We know we have to publish more background info, but for now that’s a little later on the table.
The Xreal database has some information, for shaders this is an essential document:

fortunately, that’s about it. unless you count unofficial sources too. The system is very much Doom 3 in all but names. Reading manuals about Doom 3, ET:QW and Source (yes, they have quite some in common) will help people a lot.
We have some technical demands we want to meet first before we really want to push it in the hands of other developers. We now have omni-bot fully integrated, but we also look for an advanced mod to become the new etmain. Mods like ET Pro or NQ.
If you don’t want to wait for that moment, and you want to use the power that id tech 4 has to offer, come to our IRC, their are multiple maps we want to redesign and we are open for any artist, modeller or mapper that wants to bring something to the table.
ps. PFS is locked ad 90 by default. this provides best performance and graphics. Above 200, some artefacts might show up.

They are From Wolfenstein 2009, hehe
The only wolf09 texture used is the marble one. (the floor)

For now only NQ has show a positive sign of life for ETXReal support, and it seems ETPro will do so also. The others have not replied or seen this yet.
Has anyone Considered making a Single Player/Co-Op mode for ET-Xreal/OpenTerritory since i doubt people would consider Porting XReal to RTCW.

RTCW is also GPL. What’s to stop you from borrowing some code from the SP code?

You can only disable HDR, soft shadows and some post process effects.
The engine has changed, it’s not longer id tech 3.
Comp died with Rtcw mp and osp. Et would be in comp setting the jaymod of Rtcw.
Not gonna argue about competition. They don’t even care about mappers (just take a look to SAGE… but no problem).
Btw, there is another project of wolfenstein mp for ETQW if interested.

I can’t show any sign of life if nobody actually contacted me or asked me to add support into N!tmod (or CompET). 
I’d be glad to add support for new ET engines into my mods, but what kind of changes exactly have to be done ? If you let me know, i’ll do it as soon as i get enough free time to work on my mods again.
Not really separated. I have no projects with xreal right now (only some tests), but i do with Doom 3.
I will give backup to other xreal projects if necessary.
Right now, my project for doom 3 is not the same as in moddb. In fact, a 85 percent of it are placeholders.
I know that this irrelevant to the topic, but it will make things clear. (from some pms i recieved the last months)
Choosing an mod to become the new ‘etmain’ is not as straight forward as it seems. We work under the GPL 3.0 license and we respect and support that. On the other hand, it’s not debatable. The technology we will use has to be GPL 3.0 compatible.
I personally have good hopes for ET Pro, since that’s the post popular mod under the more dedicated community. If it’s impossible to continue on ET Pro, we will look into alternatives.
It is worth noting that ETX can just as well be modded. Minor adjustments would make it possible to run existing mods on our base. If modders distribute their mods independently, they will not be required to follow the GPL license, as long as they don’t violate the EULA from SD. We would regret it, because it would add an additional action before users can actually play a game.

We have multiple people working on the technology behind it, and we can oversee all forums and such. If you want high quality textures, you can use the Git system to download new textures and such. If you wish, I can help you on IRC to configurate and install everything, so you can build in ETX radiant and see the changes in an HDR enviroment.[/QUOTE]
