I like the idea from Eraser…

I doubt if one team mate can put that much mines around ya that ya can’t move;

  1. There are a certain amount of mines a team can use
  2. Lucky us they can’t mine around spawn
  3. There is a vote button for TK mine spammer called kick player :slight_smile:

Here’s a little bug a friend of mine and I spotted last night.

I was an axis covert ops, using an allied covert ops skin, and waiting in the allied command center while my friend and 2 other allied players rebuilt the command center. As soon as it was built I threw down a satchel charge and blew it up, taking two enemy engineers with it. My friend was on the allied team, and we were on voice. I proceeded to shoot him, and retain my uniform. Because my friend had known I was in the allied command center from the last time the allies built it, I ask him why he didn’t shoot me. He said that a big red ‘do not shoot’ sign had appeared over me, and he got confused. Remember I was axis covert ops using an allied covert ops skin. He didn’t get a screenshot because I killed him. We tried to duplicate the bug, but couldn’t.

I do not know if this bug has been posted yet… Anyways, in the server browser – it is impossible to check a server as a favorite if the scrollbar is not at the top. Anyone else have this problem?

If u die exactly the same time u take a uniform, you end up on the ground asking for a medic in a enemy uniform

I get this same problem. Not once have I been able to go three rounds in campaign mode. And it seems like others can just fine.
I can load the map just fine when I first connect to the server but when it reloads for the next round I get disconnected. Maybe the minimum system requirement just to reload the @#$% map is a 1.0 GHZ processor :disgust:

The error messages I get are either:
“Server disconnected for unknown reason”
or
“Client read past end of server”

Bugs:

Bug1:
Every now and then the game will wind down with lower and lower fps until I hit 1 or 0 fps and get connection interrupted. The process takes maybe 10-20 seconds and the FPS gradually drops. Not sure if that’s caused by server crashing or the game entering a infinite loop or what, I haven’t found anything linking the occurances.

Bug2:
Friendly players names aren’t always displayed when they’re prone leading to unintentional teamkills.

Bug3:
If a medic gives health when I am prone with mobile mg42 on tripod I can only move my aim vertically as he’s near, horisontal movement is disabled.

Bug4:
Throwing distance for health/ammo packs is too short, it’s impossible to stand still near a player and give him packs without first topping myself up. Make it longer or change the throw somewhat so it’s possible to ensure that a vital player has what he needs to do his job.

just to reiterate what people have said:

  1. Remove the vote team kill after noobie fails to spot a mine

  2. Remove the instant “medic” call on death

Also may suggest that messages are displayed in another location - just that during the game you don’t see msgs as easily as u did in RTCW - i know the lower half of the screen shows EXP and awards but u dont need to see this info every second of the game - pressing L should be sufficient

That way ther will be more room at lower HUD for old-style messages.

Same sort of thing has happened to me a couple of times. I thought my internet connection was being flooded, and my game’s FPS seemed to drop until I was viewing what appeared to be a slideshow. I nearly ripped my hair out trying to figure out what might have been wrong with my internet connection, LOL.

There is a beep when I am panzered, which happens --that is me being panzered-- more that I like :D. This has been noted on three diffrent computers.

Just a note, my problem went away when my Ti4600 got back from being repaird (fan went bad). When i was playing and having the issues I described, I was on a TNT2 card. I shut down my machine, put in the TI4600, boot up on the same nvidia drivers, and everything work. Load time for maps is now 12seconds, compared to 160seconds.

I find it a bit odd that the TNT2 made map load times so long. I think there must be a bug somewhere there.

changing collors for your crosshair does not work. (EDIT: when healt in crosshair is on, so thats pretty obvious)

some ppls healtbars are empty so i think they are almost dead and shoot them to revive, but instead they are full and get pissed.

mapoverbrightbits is unchangeable it sais it will be changed after restart but it is still the same then.

lots of times i have server for low pings only and i do reconnect and then i do get in.

Sometimes my screen fades to black during warmup. I can see all the 2D-stuff (HUD, radar, …) and I can move etc. If the round starts all is very choppy, although my ping/framerate stays the same as before. When I spectate a teammate (whilst dead), everything is fine. The problem is fixed after the start of the next round or a /reconnect. (My computer is a Duron 700, GF2, 256 MB RAM and I have usually a framerate of 80-90 indoors and around 20 outdoors)

Some more issues:

  1. Medics shouldnt wear any 2 handed gun, only a pistol/Akimbo (maybe with more ammo).
  2. The time between calling an artillery strike and the beginning of the strike is to short, it should be longer.
  3. Engineers can set up mines at the basement of the fueldump, although it has a different (woodlike) texture from the ground.
  4. No loss of experience points if you use the /reconnect command via console.
  5. No complaints allowed if someone is curious about the red/blue little flags on the ground and gets TKed by a mine.
  6. No auto “Medic” call (or a locally limited call only).
  7. Sometimes i have seen people that had about 80-120 kills/deaths and gave/took only 2000-4000 damage. In my opinion that is impossible. (4000 damage = 40*100 damage = max. 40 deaths, if you die 80 times you should have received at least 8000 damage)

Uhh, forget point 3 of my first post.

But 2 more issues:

  1. Sometimes the server browser shows the my ping would be, lets say 50. Then, if i try to connect, a popup appears that says “The server is for low pings only”. But if a hit the reconnect button, all is fine and I connect to the server.
  2. Where is that splash/limbo map from? Germany has the same color as England, the Soviet Union (not Soviet Republic) has the same color as Rumania and Finland?

No sure if this one has been mentioned before, as it’s only minor and I can’t be bothered to backtrack through this thread…

When entering ET from The All Seeing Eye, the loading screen goes screwy. It appears to me that you are using double buffered graphics but forgot to draw the map to the backbuffer. The screen flickers between the grey clear colour and the map. the connecting and IP address text remain constant. A simple fix to draw the map twice I’m sure, and chances are you’ve already spotted it.

I posted this a longer time ago into a forum that look a lot more orange than this :smiley: … but noone heard me :frowning:

I have an idea for less “luck-based-respawning” for ET.
Some maps in normal RtCW have even greater respawn times (like 40 seconds on assault defence) than the defence 30 on fueldump, but i think there are maps with higher respawn times comming up.

back to assault:
if you die when the respawn timer is near 1/40 you have a fifty fifty chance of getting instant respawn or beening dead for more than a half minute. thats crap. and i have a suggestion to make it not so “hard”:
make an second timer that runns completly asynchron to the original one and take the respawn time of the one who is nearest to half of the limbotime.

Yes, same here!

Sometimes when I go prone the screens starts jumping up and down whenever i look around. As soon as this bug got me it’ll appear everytime I go prone or grab a stationary MG ! It’s than completely impossible to hit anything. To get rid of this annoying behaviour I have to quit the game and restart.

Prolly posted before but i’ll post it anyway:

When an enemy CovertOps steals the clothes of someone in your team, you’ll see the name of your teammate appearing when the enemy runs by with it. This is very frustrating :wink:

I think that is supposed to happen when you view the individual from a certain distance. When you get closer, or put your crosshair right on the player, (if he stands still long enough) then you will see no name. I’ve had the amusing experience of being killed by a covert ops and then seeing my own name appear when I look at the offender, just before kill9ing him.
