ET: something needs to be done about complaint kicks

(bogs) #41

Oh the sarcasm must have escaped me somehow. Thanks for clearing that up. I can honestly say after being TK’d, F1 sure does make me feel good. Not quite that good - but it does sooth the string from TK.

Yeah what he said

(bogs) #43

Yeah what he said[/quote]

oh please dont label me so i’m excluded from your little clique! please oh please.

Noob Tk’ers deserve the complaint, espceially Panzer noobs. But if it is a clear accident followed by “sorry” then I will almost always drop the complaint.

(bogs) #45

i don’t drop it unless I run directly in front of someone’s fire. Shooting me in the back and saying sorry won’t sway my finger enough to the right. I’m ultra left most of the time. Politics… sheesh.

I can understand what you are saying if a teammate “accidently” pumps you with 5 bullets. But if you are running around in a heavy combat area or as a disquised CovOps with 2HP, will you still complain against the player who has accidently caught you with 1 stray bullet? It is your fault for getting in the line of fire with that low of health instead of running back and healing. Should the whole team stop firing on the enemy just because your low health ass is strafing back and forth like an idiot in the middle of the battlefield

And another thing about the CovOps, in this game if you run into an enemy around a corner in close combat you must pump hot lead into his skull as quickly as possible or you will be the one eating bullets in the face. In these close combat situations it is a matter of milliseconds between who dies and who moves on So if you were to hesitate every time you encounter an enemy like this to see if that little red cross comes up, you will lose every time. Once you get a disquise, get your ass out of the base and into enemy territory, that is where you belong. It is too confusing if someone is defending an objective and here you come running toward that objective in an enemy uniform.

So anyway if you are to follow these simple rules:

1.Do not walk into a combat area with <20 HP
2.Do not walk around your own base with an enemy uniform on

I am sure I can think of others, but whatever. It is all common sense. Play smarter and you will be TK’ed a lot less and we can all enjoy the game a lot more. And feel free to complain against the idiots that still TK you if you are following these guidelines, they have to learn somehow.

I agree with karpo_007.

Good manners, (yes kiddies, that means saying “sorry” and “thanks” on a regular basis) 99.9% of the time keep people from complaining/kicking you when you make a mistake. In a fast paced game like this accidents do happen, even to the best players. You gotta learn to play conservatively when there are noobs on the server. Assume they haven’t learn where to walk yet, be careful with grenades/artillery, know map strategies, and the like and adjust or leave. These skills take some time for these players to learn (sometimes they never do), and that is what the “team: say” key is for.

Noobs TK and get TK’ed a lot, filing complaints most of the time works, but it ain’t perfect (nothing will be). I have seen some players “wisen up” as a couple complaints came their way. Troublemakers/crackheads/buttflamers/spawncampers most always get dumbarses kicked, I’ve seen that a lot.

One big worry is “vigilanteism”. That is not good for the game, it only teaches other players to act that way. Even if I am mad at the guy who accidentally TK’ed me I’ll put my ego aside, and still heal/support him. It might have been a mistake. ET is a very aggressive game and sometimes it’s hard not to hold a grudge in the heat of battle. This is a “team” and “game” after all. If you get zapped, file your complaint, and MOVE ON. If it happens again keep complaining, move clear of his area, and MOVE ON. If it happens a third time, he is either a sloppy noob or a TK’er. Trust me if a player is dumb enough to kill you on purpose, this many times, he has probably killed many others and is on his way out soon.

Nope. But if I have a full bar and start fighting the enemy, and i get tk’d (which is the only way I have been tked to be honest), I file. every time.

So anyway if you are to follow these simple rules:

1.Do not walk into a combat area with <20 HP
2.Do not walk around your own base with an enemy uniform on

Huh, nice rules. People will get TK’d less. Get this on the rtcw4dummies site right away. Since I already do that they won’t help me get TK’d less so I will continue to file on everything.

(alexwryt) #49

Ok that’s cool then you will not be filing against me. Keep filing on the newbies. that’s the only way they’ll learn.

Yes, If you play as a CovOps you can’t avoid friendly fire every time. It’s the manners like GrumpyDog said. If I tk someone, I always say sorry. Every time. Usually I have 0 complaints. This is something that all “civilized” playes do on the servers I play. But if the CovOps is a noob who complains everytime no matter if there is sorry or not, maybe he shouldn’t be CovOps.
