I didn’t sift through the 12 pages, but I only have one concern, and that is what perspective or POV will vehicles be?

Me, personally, would love to see a forced first person perspective. One thing I’ve hated from other games with vehicles is the option, or forced third person. IMO, third person in a vehicle gives you way too much of an advantage from an enemy trying to sneak up on you to take you out. It makes vehicles much over powered as they already have high armor/health points and superior firepower. Don’t give them 270-360 degree peripheral vision as well.

And since it’s a wishlist, I would like to see Quake style fragging, not BF2 style fragging. What I mean is, in BF2 (god I hate that game) the avg number of hits to take someone out is like 3-5 rounds, with these erratic spray and pray weapons (and extremely lucky headshots). I miss good ol’ fashioned Quake/UT style of accurate weapons but 20 rounds to take out someone. Relies more on skill with a weapon, than a cone of fire “luck” that might get a headshot from 20 miles away. I have nothing against headshots, but I do have something against random unskilled headshots a la battlefield and call of duty series games. I guess what I’m saying is, don’t make it TOO reality based, but rather keep the feel of Quake in it.

Last but not least, the game looks amazing. Keep up the great work SD and I hope the anticipation I have for this game breathes some life back into gaming for me. Cheers!

Vehicles will be 1st person only in the cockpit as far as i know from reviews. You will get information from your cockpit and not some huds when ur in an vehicle. Further, if there is some1 driving and the other uses teh maschine gun, only then the maschine gun can rotate 360 degrees.

this one’s for the demos:

  • it would be great to set a marker via keyboard so that you can jump directly to those markers in playback +/- last respawn or so
  • adding descriptive text for demos directly in the game, eg “10:00 melee” or so
  • a demo browser which shows this descriptive text

IMPORTANT - voting/complaint system

The current system has some flaws because of human factor. For instance, many people don’t care how they vote, they just want the yellow message to disappear faster. This sometimes results in honest players getting kicked or muted, because some idiot thinks its fun to kick vote random player, and others don’t care at all.
Sometimes you get complaints for - as I suspect - the same reason. And by the way, complaints for mines should be completely disabled, because it’s almost always not engineer’s fault, and it’s very hard to deliberately teamkill with landmines.

Several pages later I already suggested that each vote against other player forces you to name a reason, and it would make respective number (like amount of teamkills&used weapon, chat messages) appear to back it up.

Other fixes to people who don’t care but still vote:
Make it EXTREMELY EASY to disable complaint system on client’s side, and disable ability to vote yes/no. Perhaps even disable it by default.
But only people who have voting system enabled would be counted when determining yes/no percentage.

POV on vehicles is 1st/3rd, like UT2k4 ONS. It’s on the videos and some SD employee has even confirmed that after E3.

I want to be able to apply some knifey action from behind.

Third person cams on vehicles only makes piloting vehicles eayier and sneaking up on them harder, and all this makes vehicles more powerful.

Now that I’ve just bought one… I’d like to see Logitech G15 keyboard support in the game. The lcd screen could be used to show objectives at a glance, or other important information.

It’s nice to have a keyboard with a working spacebar :stuck_out_tongue:

Infantry based

Vechiles wont play such a big part in the game, such as in ET.

No commander such in BF2, UAV and spot ruins all the excitement.

1st person spectating.

There is smth like UAV…a radar that displays enemy positions on minimap.
