- Dynamic Campaigns (Game previews seem to confirm this is already in)
- 3rd Party Voicecoms (no bf2 or cs:source sytled voicecoms, more in-game support for Teamspeak or Ventrilo howerver might be nice)
- Commander Class/functions (ie BF2, Natural Selection, or Savage)
- Single player support (Server bots, for offline play or practice)
- IRC support for in-game messaging by off-server IRC clients.
- Covert ops styled class… luved the sneaky aspecs of this class in ET.
ET:QW Wishlist
- i wanna see the cock running around, the one which you hear in ET in goldrush, and i wanna kill it.
Not to be too vehicle dependant. I don’t want to have to fight for a vehicle, and if i don’t get one, have to run for 10mins just to get killed and be back to the start… one of the main reasons i’ve not bought the larger team based games such as BF2 and Joint Ops.
Futuristic weapons… we can manage interstellar travel but still use gun powder projectile weapons?
Mellee attack!!! (nothing more satisfying in halo than cracking some camper over the back of the skull with your gun)
And on that note… dual weilding To quote Church from red vs blue… "why couldn’t we carry 2 guns before? We’ve got 2 hands)
Flash Grenades, and with that, shell shock type damage like CoD where your vision goes blurry and ears ring if something explodes near you… possibly even through you to the ground and you drop your weapon if it’s very close.
Electro magnetic pulse weapon to disable power to vehicles
- The oompa-loompas class, with several subclasses
- The ability to give your characters new weapons, clothes, acessories, and hair styles as well as skin decals
- Smile icons (et al) replacing smileys on the in-game message
My wish list is from a mod-perspective. I think it would be EXTREMELY helpful to
permit MULTIPLE valid clients on the same platform to connect to sv_pure and
punkbuster servers.
Maybe set it up so the alternate cgame binaries in the download .pk4, the files are checked like this:
cgame.mp.i386.so (default one used after any download)
i386/cgame.mp.libc2.so
i386/cgame.mp.ahtlonxp.so
i386/cgame.mp.p4.so
etc…
So user can, if they need or want to, copy one of the specialized versions out of
the pk4 file. Then when server does md5sum or similar, it checks against
a (cached) list of acceptable checksums for that particular platform.
The reason for this is say you want to build a cgame.mp.i386.so and it links against
libc, libgcc_s, libstdc++, we all know what happens to poor souls without the same versions on their linux distribution. This would also permit more agressive optimization
options when compiling. One for i686, AthlonXP, and P4, etc.
Damage based XP (at least as an option). And something similar for other skills (i hope ET:QW wil have an XP system like ET).
In order of importance, for me:-
-
Objective game-mode as in RTCW/ET.
-
An OSP style competition mode (with refs / pauses / ready up etc.)
-
XP (assuming there is an XP system) must be OFF when competition mode is ON.
-
Maps that can be played 6-v-6.
-
Maps that don’t require vehicles to cross.
ET:QW wont be a free game (at least for the first 10 years or so), so 1 game/CD-set/DVD = 1 CD-key. For a new key you need to buy a new copy of the game. The only problem would be key generators, but you can avoid this by providing a internet key registration.
that’s a point. a cd as a key would suck heavily as etqw would be the game i play most of the time. i already have a job and i don’t want to do a second job as discjockey. i wanna install the game and that’s it with the cd. i hope there’ll be some other kind of protection. it still sucks if one always has to get a no-cd patch for the legally bought games. but anyway afaik this kind of legal buyer rape is the sadistic job of the publisher, not the developer. so SD, if you can do something and help us legal buyers in that matter, please HELP!!!
A CD-Key is a key provided together with the CD. Usually it is printed somewhere and you need to enter it manually during installation.
Copyprotecting a CD and require to have it in your drive during play on the other hand only offends the honest customer, since he is the one who gets problems with it (e.g. due to certain hardware or software combinations). So I hope this will be not the case for ET:QW.
if you look closely at the trailer you can see that most of weapons are of this sort even the alien ones seem to be apart from some of the explosives shown so looks promising.
would be nice to have some anti-aircraft gun placements around and maybe option of making engineers upgrading them to automatic in order to make people try ground assult instead.
yeah like idea of some vehicle disabling weapon used by one class maybe.
a built in minimizer so you dont need to close the game in order to do something else would be nice
- in the human spawn when i drive out with the jeep i’d like to hear “America - Fuck Yeah!” by Trey Parker from the movie “Team America”. and maybe via loud speaker the strogg should hear it as well, so that they know who’s coming for them
here’s what i mean: http://www.drunkreport.com/media/america.htm
awesome one
indeed. i wonder how many peopz will use that song for their ET:QW videos, it would totally fit in
as long as they play the sad version of the song when the humans get beat by the strogg
‘ameriiica… fuuuckk yeah’
That it will PWN BF2 is sure. BF2 suxx cuz its only stupid killing, objectives make it cool cuz ou need to do something that is really important then fraggin.
And yes I would like to beta test as well. Maybe some ppl of an upcoming clan as well. You could ask us to on www.sefclan.tk. Just register in 30 secs. *ET gets boring and i need a new GOOD (so no EA ) game.
the SEF clan appears to be an EDF-only clan… makes me wonder what happens when you have to play strogg?
