Dual Objective maps get passed over by server admins because sometimes they just go on forever. Having a timer, and basing victory on who has accomplished the most objectives fixes this… ie Base Race.

Yeah dont like duel maps as well. Baserace is nice, but not that good. ET is good as it is, but now there should the same ammount of maps to defend as to attack. In ET railgun was the only map where axis were attacking, the rest was allied. I also hope that blowing up a radio tower or something could damage teh enemy its communication like it shouldnt be possible to voice chat and getting objectives from other team members which have been spotted till the radio transmit tower has been repaired.

Well as long as most ppl use 3rd party voice this would be easy to by-pass. Better still to have a covert op class bug a cmd post which would allow the other teams teamchat to be viewed…
Yeah, 3rd party wont be able to stopped, on public its not used mostly. But still not being able to get objectives that have been spotted would be a great disadvantage in my eyes for teh team.
Yes a new cheat protection system would be great.
maybe written in assembler with direct hardware acces without using API´s and Drivers.
if crosshair moves without mouse movement he uses aimbot - its so simple.
Even reading Hardware ID´s directly from the Hardware not like Punkbuster over hookable? spoofable API´s.
Or make a system you can only join with Online account -creatable only with checked Passport - and if somebody was detected - bann him for lifetime for every future Multiplayergame

Such a system using mouse input is very very easy to bypass. You just have to fool the PC saying him the mouse would move and bam. Done.
Banning from every game? Don’t make me laugh. Are you a bit of paranoid or something like that? If someone cheats one time, it doesn’t mean he’ll do it the whole time and will always cheat.
I bet you wouldn’t mind total surveillance of your PC since you have nothing to hide, would you?
Yeah I agree completely. While I don’t like people who cheat (because well… they’re annoying as fuck - especially when they don’t admit it) it’s certainly not to say they continue cheating throughout the lifespan of the game.
It’s a little different if it’s a game like ET where it’s free and one didn’t have to pay for the purchase. QW however will cost money, and as far as I know no single player (which I’m down with) so to ban somebody completely from a game they paid 50+ bucks for for cheating is pretty insane to me. I guess, if it’s in the EULA or something then that’s different cause I know Blizzard went on a banning spree with Warcraft 3 and Diablo from Battle.net… but at least there’s still single player for those guys.
Plus… not all people who have cheated are bad people lol. Some are just bored with the game sometimes and (if they’re smart) go to servers with Punk Buster disabled and just go crazy with the other hackers on the server. Because let’s be honest, PB should never be disabled on a legitimate server where people are expected to not hack. Having it disabled is just an open invite.
So yeah to recap. Hacking = Bad. But Perma Banning from the ENTIRE GAME = worse (unless of course, it’s constant and malicous).

i dont say that on punkbuster disabled servers you dont have to cheat. But in the Moment its very hard to find a punkbuster enabled public server with no cheaters.
And there are many kiddies who buy a private hack and join pb enabled servers so a normal player whoi is not a pro loose all fun.
and joining a pb enabled server is a letter of agreement NOT TO CHEAT and as you say people dont expect that there are cheaters.
but if you buy a game that cost 50 bugs and your fun was killed by cheaters you can throw away the game.
And if you do nothing against cheaters in future - i will never buy me any future fps because i know i have a competition with a “tool” and not with other people.
And ban cheaters for a long time maybe half a year is enough those kiddies think twice before they use a hack on a expected hack protected server.
I dont have experience with assembler on x86 plattform but i know a bit of zx80 proz assembler programming and of c64 to and you can read the registers of the I/O chip from ps/2 port i think - and i think so thats more difficult to fake. Sure faking the output or the code of the mouse driver is more easy.

yes of course its working “fine” with public hacks it detects it very well - after a few weeks are gone - than they will be hardware banned. ok 1 week later
there is a new UNDETECTED HACK that work for the next 2 month. hardware banned cheaters loads than a hardwarespoofer and MAC spoofer and so on and PB
doesnt know them anymore.
I dont want to post the LINKS to those sides where you can buy your PRIVATE PB and ETPRO UNDETECTED hacks but there are.
So theres a need for a new cheat protection maybe in addition with PB and ETPRO.

The best protection is to pick them out yourself.
PB allows some decent banning.
PB will ban public hacks a few weeks after they’re released, it’s like the human body, when we get infected by a virus we need some time to adjust ourselfs.
A different story would be private hacks yes, but seing these often cost a lot of money these are only used by the serious cheaters (not the uber serious cheaters who write hacks for themselves)
yes thats one way that works. but often i thought theres somebody cheating, then i spec him and im sure for me that he uses for example a wallhack.
than i beg the admin to do the same but there is no admin or the admin is a friend of the cheater or the admin cheats himself - and all i earn is fleer (can i say it so?). Or i say it to the putative cheater directly and the answer then is 90% “LOL” or “some chese to the whine” or “learn aiming” and thats a little bit frustrating

What im talking about here will most likely be developed by the IRC community anyway. There was this IRC script called Q3IRCMU Download Link that would let you message someone in your IRC channel in-game. It would only work with Q3. It was a great tool to alert clan members that were in a full server that they were needed in IRC, another match was starting on another server… ect. Not sure if ET:QW will allow this kind of messaging but it would be kewl.
