64 player suxx, at least in ET, maybe the huge maps is better. it probable will be supported but maps ar enot build for it, it wont be used much

Then the rest of ur stuff is again the same stuff, mentioned everywhere, SP suxx, multi PWNZ, bots suck, real ppl pwn. And it is already mentioned that u can only use your own weapons/vehicles.

hey also how bout a level where its a human convoy versus strogg convoy and make them large and with drivable turrets and you have to destroy the opposing convoy

Uhm, maybe forget all your things about the maps. It’s too late to edit teh maps as i guess they have finished out most plans and are busy with the latest textures for them (not sure ofcourse). This is more for map makers after teh game is released.

Anyways each map will have objectives, we dont know much more then “Blow up an strogg undergound base” till now. There are objectives to do and maybe you need to escort an command center trough a level, so thats escorting something. Also the things mentioned in ur other post will be most likely in it. See you enter the game, you are going with a squad of 3/4 ppl with a tank or whatever on adventure probably. Do the objectives and there are many options to reach your objective. A map can be only won by objectives. So mentioning this things isnt that usefull as there are maps with things to blow up, repair something, get documents etc like ET.

If ET:QW is as good as W:ET (and it probably is) then the W:ET scene will die slowly anyhow. I still would like to play RTCW from time to time.
Good games don’t disappear, they just fade away slowly untill they are revived once in a while. Players won’t play it that regularly, but you’ll still see contests and maybe small competitions around.

I don’t want to forget W:ET, but on the other hand I don’t want to miss out on this occasion where a total new community may spring into life.

The trouble is, whilst ET is free, it still manages to attract only dedicated players for the most part due to the old graphics and physics it has. ET:QW will attract the ET heads because we know ET and we have a fair idea of the style of gameplay to expect. Unfortunatly it is also attracting teh L33t Ub3r A$$h0l3$ that play BF2, CS etc because of the Ug effect. If you do not know the Ug effect I shall enlighten you.
When a game is shiney with all the pretty light effects, shadowing and real life physics. nomatter how ceck the game actually is, certain groups of people start to drool and go “Ug, pretty, Ug”, they play the game entirely based upon how it looks and are generally juvenile dickwads that should’ve been shot at birth, in fact I rate these people as I would a spide (chav, ned or whatever word you use for corner lurkers in hooded tops, baseball caps and adidas trainers).

yes but them playing and buying the game increases the profit the game makes so more money will be invested in future games as there is a larger market so hopefuly future games will be bigger and better… its business at the end of the day

Me putting up asshats = Me discovering daylight, outdoor activities and exercise (True)
Daylight causes skin disease, outdoor activities include basejumping and skydiving, over exercising can lead to cardiac arrest. All of these are potentially fatal (True)

Do you really want to be responsible for my death just to make a few quid? Cause I’ll haunt SD towers if you do

Would you rather just play QW with the same people who play ET??
It really sounds like you want a niche game that only you and your mates play and no one else is invited. I reckon that would get boring fairly quickly.
We are all going to be noobs at the start and their will always be asshats.

Can we have a return to positivity on the forum please, the old guard are starting to grate a little.

I would like to see:

  1. Destructable terrain. Maybe some support forthe Ageia PhyX physics processing cards, to offload some of the…uh…load. :wink: And sure, some people will say “You could just blow a hole to get the docs!” But what if you blow a hole, and the rest of the building falls down? Then you are screwed, and you just screwed your team! Now they have to dig through the rubble, under fire, to get the docs! Or you could just make them super strong. :smiley:
  2. A commander class. Something a little more indepth than jus the ET Lt. IE, can direct troop movements on the mini map, do radar sweeps or so, etc. Just a little more tactical than giving out ammo and calling airstrikes. :wink:
  3. Voicechats, as have already been mentioned. :slight_smile:
  4. Maybe with the XP system you could upgrade your gun? eg, put a little camera on it so you can stick your gun around corners and shoot that way. That idea is maybe not so good. :wink:

Please, pretty please, no Starforce. Im also avoiding any games including this … thing … since I bought one using it. Could never play the game for more than 10 minutes without lockups, and after lots of investigations with game users & developers, starforces seems to be the most probable culprit. Plus I get some system reboot I never had before, while doing nothing particular, but that might be totally unrelated and just paranoia. Anyways for what I know and experimented about Starforce, it is prohibited now on my pcs.

It most likely won’t have a copy protection due to the fact that its MP only. CDKey checking is better than any copy protection. Quake4 doesn’t even have a copy protection.

    Some thougs about those:
  6. It will create quite a mess. If one smart guy grabs a tank and destroys the building, the whole team is screwed, something you don’t like to see on pub servers.
  7. I think this comes along with the mobile command center, and those inside get the tactical overviews. I think it’s allready a problem of choosing the right player.
  8. No problem, voicechats are fun.
  9. Been discussed before: not too many special rewards if possible. Players allready playing for an hour would quickly own a regular who just joined the server.

  1. They’ve talked about it on some interview… they’d originally have a commander player, but not anymore because it created problems if no one stepped in/didn’t do their job correctly. So no, there’s no commander.

I hope they keep the Limited Lives (maxlives) option on the server. Those generally attract only serious gamers. All the asshats complain about it, and leave immediately.
Though fueldepot is a stinker on maxlives for engineers.
