I didn’t even realize until today that Quake Wars was on XBOX. I’m about to go get it right now.

(Crytiqal) #23

I thought the XBOX version didn’t run so well?

something about bad porting?

Why not get it on the PC anyway? :s geesh

(Jess Alon) #24

Not everyone has a PC that does much beyond checking email.

For sure, ETQW is still alive, not as 2 or 3 years ago, but you’ll find lot of server running with more or less players, but running
At least 10 public-ranked servers are full permanently, 2 or 3 pro-mod servers are often played (pl4fcwar, clinteastwood, [STU]pidoz pro-mod, …etc).
The community is nice, and if you want to do some matchs, you can find some teams which are looking for that (reX ? ), for example, my team play match almost all evenings during holyday.
If you like hardcore games, I advice you to download the pro-mod, where you’ll find all former comp players, and new players with a great wish to improve skill
SO, yes, ET:QW is still alive.

Hi guys & girls!

I just registered here after unsucessfully scouring Activision’s white plastic dildo page for anything other that prices and flash screens () and I was very happy to see many people still participating in QW-related activities.

I have been a fan of the whole Quake franchise from day/game 1 on, but most of all i loved quake 2 (finished it at least twice, plus both expansions; love them still). My problem was that I never had a good enough PC to play Quake 4 on, untill this Christmas (yeah, 1 week ago), when i finally got me a nice PC… When I was wondering, which game to install 1st, my choice was obvious

I am also a big fan of RTCW and RTCW:ET (The newest Wolfenstein just made me rage at Activision infinetly more - they effectively killed a great franchise IMO), so the next obvious choice was to get ET:QW and so far i absolutely love it - Quake 2 universe, Strogg AND Enemy Territory in one pack, plus great graphics and gameplay, so what’s not to like?!

Anyway - i’ll keep playing this game for at least another two years GUARANTEED, so we’ll see eachother pretty soon online

Keep it up, bye

There are still people playing, just not as many as there once was. Still a few tales to tell I reckon. Some people seem pretty organised still, but in Oz we are a casual fun scene.

See, these kind of stats are usefull and funny, want charts? I will be able to make them on the fly I guess with some time and one guy integrating sql code + R code into a web page.

(light_sh4v0r) #35

Unknown OS’es are odd linux distro’s I guess? There’s relatively many of em, so it’s used frequently.

(brbrbr) #36

how is that possible 1 player is from unknown state? kosovo or south sudan, maybe?

(DrFunkenstein) #39

The list is based on the output of “pb_sv_plist” on the server and the OS someone uses is included in that. I guess Punkbuster doesn’t recognize some of the things people use.

I noticed the “unknown” country as well and looked up the player on PBBans. They don’t know where he’s from either. The country list is based on the IP a player has, btw.
