ET:QW Special Edition

(Ragnar_40k) #1

A special edition (and its content) was excessive discussed for Stalker. So I wonder if SD is planning to release a special edition for ET:QW, which could include some neat stuff like a T-Shirt, a metall badge or even a complete reanimation kit!
I always liked the Ultima (damn you EA) boxes which had cloth maps, trading cards and other stuff.

I’m not into that kind of stuff myself, I just want the game. But if they just added some fun stuff in the box as standard then why not…

(Higgins) #3

I bought RTCW Special edition, so I guess Id but a special edition of Quake wars

(eq-Shrike) #4

I demand that every box includes a small rainbow-coloured pony with it’s own ickle brush …

(DarkangelUK) #5

I demand you stop milking that pony joke to death

Have you guys ever heard of ā€œLazer tagā€. Example for those who don’t know

I think ET:QW should have a lazer tag setup in it…and people could have LAN parties that go from the computer to the grassy outdoor fields.

(carnage) #7

check that lasr tog site… its kinda desparate marketing or what, and kids love the relistic metal guns? the only one i though looked reomoty realist where the ones based on the M4 the others look like metal tubes with a speeker on the side

if you wanted to play ETQW then why would u want to play Lazer tag anyway?

(EB) #8

It was a dumb reference to all of us getting off the computer and getting some exercise. Stress the word ā€œdumbā€.

BTW…lazer tag might be fun.

P.S. not many sites to pick from for lazer tag explanations. :stuck_out_tongue:

(carnage) #9

i have played lazer tag, but only in arenas

its ok but half the poepl playing dont realy havea clue whats going on and there are so may rules to folow… no running

and there are no interesting places to go like on thoes picks… u cant cos of health and saftey and the damger envolved on fighting on rasied ledge for example

get some m8s and go paintballing if u wana have fun

i just want SD to put out a QW demo so i can try it first. i grew very leery of buying into game hype after i bought CoD the instant it came out, only to discover that i hated the MP portion (SP was real good tho).

anyway, give us an MP demo!

(DG) #11

I’m assuming a fair chance of there being an mp_test

(squadjot) #12

would be sweet

(Fusen) #13

I bought the etpro special edition

(EZtigER) #14

Looks a sound game, really looking forward to this…

I bought the special box releases of Quake 3, HL2 and the id anthology, if SD release a solid MP demo that cuts the mustard then yeah I would buy a special edition for sure…

Is there any more of a commitment for a release date (quarter) in 2006?

(SniperSteve) #15

So far just 2006 from what I’ve read.

Special Edition would be sweet.
Of course it would have to be something cool. (Hat, T-shirt, etc…) A poster doesnt cut it, and I can write better strategy guides then the average guide. Which is more like info on weapons, maps, veh’s and stuff. Normally it doesnt include Hard Core FPS gaming info. And further in a MP only game the game evolves so much over time (especily with char advancement) that most guides are useless after 1 year. Well, coffee mug holder comes to mind…

Airsoft > lasertag

(SniperSteve) #17

Airsoft rules.

I play it in Mid Hudson Valley New Yrok with some friends. Its really quite fun.

(FootSoulJah) #18

For sure i’d buy the special addition, y not eh?

I hope SD do decide to release a Ltd / Spl Edition. I hope it’s a much better offering than the Quake 4 special edition. £50.00 (you are having a laugh).

Special Edition Also Includes:

* The official making of QUAKE 4
* QUAKE 2
* QUAKE 2 Expansion Packs: Reckoning and Ground Zero

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/quake-2_W0QQitemZ8227133949QQcategoryZ27234QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

So for an extra £25.00 you get a behind the scenes video and a game +exp pack(s) that is nearly 8 years old, well worth it :eek3: Considering the box set / special edition is aimed at your dedicated gamer / fan, Activision honestly thought that was special!?

Toffee :disgust:

I think the point with the special edition of Quake 4 is to play through the events that lead up to Quake 4, if you haven’t already had the chance to. If I hadn’t played Quake 2 to death already, I’d be quite interested in doing this, but (like so many things) your mileage may vary
