ET:QW Special Edition

I’d still buy a Wolf:ET shirt if I could find one of decent quality.

lol (chuckles)

Ok I concede the fact that it was a cool idea for new Quakers to experience Quake2, this mean’s the idea was a sound one

But…

£50.00 I mean come on, they must have made a killing on that  The video about production granted takes time to make and must also take even more time to edit and put together (all in house) but I honestly feel the price and the package were a total let down, wrapped around a good idea bolstered onto making more $$$$.

I suppose that’s what it is about at the end of the day but feel if they are going to go for the cuddly kiddy we wanted you to experience the story vote, then those same kiddies will be spending more cash for something that should have been included as an extra and some.

I’m sure Activision could have pushed themselves to include a cheapo cotton T Shirt & an A4 sized poster?

I wonder who make’s these decision’s? No doubt they are made early on, if it’s based in the Activision camp then I’ve no doubt that the special release of Quake Wars will be appauling if Quake 4 is anything to go by, if Splash Damage have a chance to get their two pence in then I am sure it will be better.

Slightly off topic, but I think there were tshirts for preordering the US version of Quake 4 - I got a couple from the pile our Activision producer kindly gave us, and they came in Quake 4 game boxes with ‘pre-order only game not included’ on a green bit at the top.

Lucky for the USA fan’s

Agree back on topic

Would I be paying £50.00 for a Quake Wars limited edition with an old copy of Enemy Territory (or similer) and a behind the scenes video? No I would not, in my opinion that is a total rip off, opinon’s may differ.

I’ll pay 50 pounds for a nice CD case, access to the game one day before the ones who havent bought the premium version, and an ETQW t-shirt :stuck_out_tongue:

It will be the only game I buy that year anyway. (I allways stick to certain games)

(Sauron|EFG) #26

I’d pay £50 for a T-shirt autographed by DJ Bawb and a tour of the SD office.

The game shop www.gameware.at lists a collectors edition of ET:QW. I wonder what extra stuff the box will contain - a rainbow colored pony? a full size tapir?

(Bongoboy) #28

A tapir-sized Pony.

(thefatladysings) #29

:frowning: I would rather have a pony-sized tapir…

But a special edition sounds cool
maybe all the modding tools on a second cd? -hint, hint  -

The editor is shipped with the game if it’s still the same as in Doom 3.

Having a free edition of the modelling tools (Complete with the supported plugins) and SDK would be a great addon for modders.
(Of course, it should be possible to get downloaded freely as well)
