I’m surprised that this topic hasn’t been started earlier.

As it has been mentioned in the latest interview with Locki.

May be there could be a server side configurable medic.
With a very balanced default setting.
Options could be the self healing, delay of taking med packs, the automatic healing rate, the maximum self healing HP etc.

There are also some W:ET medic related threads here in the forums.

I didnt vote yet because there are ways to minimize “rambo medics” without taking it out all together.

My solution, unless this has already been tested would be to have medics regenerate health with the medic pack out but slowly. Its been a while but I believe BF2 did this. But make it really slow so that if they truely are “rambo” in nature, they wont sit in a corner forever because they will get bored or need to move up or get caught.

The one thing I wouldn’t want to see is them throwing med packs on the ground and picking them up, getting “insta-healed” just as other soldier.

People have lots of different meanings of “rambo medics”, and how can we comment on which server side options will be necessary without ever having played the game?

If it isn’t a problem then why add the option to screw it up. :wink:

Well, I see Rambo medics as people playing the game just to make frags & not helping others staying alive to achieve objectives, so in short, people that ruins the cool teamplay this kind of game can bring.

make all medics get 5 health when picking up any life packs. Then rambos would all die.

Personally, I’d be happier if Rambo medics were instead Geronimo medics. Ie, it’s ok if they want to crush the enemy lines instead of supporting the team, but it has to come at their own risk. Adrenaline, Self regeneration, self medipacking and improved health give them too much of an advantage.

I’d keep the improved health (equally distributed among all the members of the team, medics don’t get more than others) and seriously nerf or take out all the other 3.

I’m not frankly to concerned with rambo medics as i am concerned with ninja reviving. Like in bf2. I was a ninja medic in a bad way and i know it drives people nuts when you run in bunny hop on top a dead guy res him than run away. That will be more of an issue imo.

Maybe the better way to phrase the question is, “which of the following attributes of the ET medic should be incorporated or changed in QW medic:”

  • Initial higher starting health (up to 25 points higher)
  • Health regeneration (at some rate)
  • Adrenaline (at some level of XP)
  • Ability to toss out and use own health packs

Anything I miss?

Shouldn’t bother the ppl getting revived so much, cause you have the spawn protection thingy. You can’t die again in .01 sec

I don’t like the question, becouse everybody explains it different.
I don’t like this topik at all.
What should i vote guys? Is there an poll-option to let SD do it, the medic thing?

There will be people that ignore their team and the objectives regardless of the number of server options. Even removing the medic class completely wouldn’t help, it would just make them switch class to Rambo Fieldops or something.

Just what “rambo medic” stands for. And sure there’ll always be players making solo stuff only regardless of the game’s options.

Maybe make them lose experience/health for every light weapon exp he gets without getting class skills?

Basically if you are a medic, and not getting first aid skills, and most of your skills are coming from light weapons, you should lose health.

Stupid idea though.

I believe health regeneration is the thing that makes medics so good at being a rambo… remove it and make them heal themselves at least. The poll seems to be missing from the post, but was something like :

yes give them regen
no
only if field ops regen ammo (makes sense they should if medics get health)
etc.

Sometimes you need a rambo medic on your team, and plus there is always heavy weapons to teach them a listen…
