Will there be lava, swimming under water, etc?
Thank you. 8)
Well, I’d imagine you could swim. You can in ET, and there is water in Quake Wars.
Yep, I’d guess the same. Would be weird if you’d just die in the river on Valley. But since taken says no… I dunno, maybe humans forgot how to swim in 2065
at quakecon Paul said that swimming underwater was not in the current build. i think it might be to stop people swimming across larger rivers and stuff underwater and undetected
Nevah, at least the Dutch will not forget how to swim In 2065 the northpole would be no more and so my little country could be even wetter, so lets swim
Swimming, yes, but only on the surface. The surface tension is, uh…extremely…tense, you, know?
Swimming in combat gear ain’t exactly easy.

I guess the flyers can no longer go underwater then.
Water wasn’t used extensively in ET, but where it was used, it added to the game. Things like underwater passages, swimming around a submarine to plant dynamite, and playing ‘grenade or knife tag’ with other swimmers was fun.
I’m sad to see this aspect of the game go, but I’ll reserve any final judgement til I play Quake Wars.
Surface swimming only works for me. But I don’t know how the Strogg are planning to swim, plus they don’t have any water vehicles right?
Of course, this could be solved by what I call game logic… “In space, explosions are LOUDER because there’s no air to get in the way!”
You could give them kangaroo legs (be it those spring-thingies) to leap over rivers. Just take a runup and jump!
Hahahahahahahaha….
Gellibaff :suspicious:.
The TV ad is great, hahahahahahahaha….
Icarus Hover Pack :stroggbanana:[/quote]So that’s where it’s for… I just thought it was a “pimp my backpack” thing.
Is the lack of swimming under water an engine limitation? Would be fun to have under water fights – perhaps with scuba equipment, for an infiltration or spy class of some sort. 8)
I heard the Strogg have evolved water wings on thier arms. And have learnt the doggy paddle.
