Well, there will be menu music, ther has to be. Many Multiplayer games dont have in-game music unlike single player. So I’m not sure if there will be any in-game, but for the menu music i predict something like the quake music. Just a bit less rocky.

music in MP games is very interesting here. in ET and rtcw music would be pretty hard to encorperate because the objectives carry little emotional conection to the player… its more just about beating the other team. As aposed to a single player game where the player races agasint time to save a beautiful women
music could be used to build up the tension but unless the story is clear any atmosphere created by the music may seem out of place
the reviews for ETQW say that the levels tell storied such as how the strog came to have the railgun etc and explain things about the quake universe. With more of a story to the maps music may be better used to tell the story
althogh each map will be played countless times so the msuic could be more repatative and become anoying than in a SP map that the player may play once or twise
I liked the musical snippets in RTCW, well I say liked, I mean they’re memorable and not because they were overly annoying. You know, the bits as the round ended and the steady flow of Good Game started.

Yeah, in game music while you play is normally turned off because you can’t hear stuff.

Though not on that thing during map, I would just find that irritating. :F Though, at intermission and such things (If they’re still gonna keep that.)
Music has already been decided, the SD team will sing “Jingle Bells” a fragment of 10 seconds which will repeat itself troughout the game, also during combat!
also, it has been reported there will be a special dance mode where players can do a 1 on 1 dancing the 10 seconds song.

Hello, new to the forum. I think the server menu music on ET was the best. Hope ID & SD can keep that for QW’s server menu.
Also, as far as voice chats go, I think that it would be funny if ID & SD could keep the ET BETA voice chats in QW. I miss those…
