Been playing for a while, everyone on server got kicked at least once with the message “et pro error - see console”. Also apparantly under Win32 it crashes when playing a demo.

Played it on the six standard-maps. Some things are really good, some things I don’t like.

  • On Seawall Battery you can spawn as Axis on the Command Post, as Allie you can dynamite the backdoor.
  • On Fuel Dump you can span as Allie by the Command Post, if constructded.
  • Added gore (?right word?) like in RtCW
  • New sound for the Command Posts
  • New sound if you drop a landmine

That seems like a bad idea. Im a big fan of the old school grabbing a uniform and running back there, while pressing v6 a million times. Getting tked running back, getting another uni, running back down with a full contingent of teamates surrounding you, then getting panzered by the newly spawned soldier. Then you run and find another uni…

i’m a shrub fan myself, don’t really like etpro much plus it’s a client side mod unlike good old shrub, ewwwwwwwwwww etpro :twak:

i might have to swallow my pride soon tho, shrub mod looks as if it’s going down hill, no update’s for quite a while now

Don’t forget this is for competitions (and SW mode). I’m sure server admins can choose wether to use this on pub servers or not.

Could u alter the download system so files can be downloaded using DAP and not the shitty unreliable IE built-in download agent, please? It keeps saying that the file has been successfully downloaded after 2secs and has 35kb.

Works fine for me, I did get that one “et pro error - see console”. once than dropped the console and was back at it didnt lose no xp or anything.

Now that there are more spawn points its going to make the game play more fast paced and will force players to be more aware of whats going on…

Plus the hitsounds are a added bonus… Knowing that you laned a headshot from ALL the way across the map is always good for the ol EGO :huh:

my spawntimer script for the opposing team doesnt work n e more, everytime i go to punch in numbers it crashes on ETpro 3 and says error MAX CVAR

i also heard u can get extra gore like in rtcw where there is bits of bodys everywhere, if so where can i get this ?

Well you just join a server that has it turned on :slight_smile: The gibs flying everywhere looks good but the novelty wears off pretty fast. Also the body parts look nothing like the player you just splatted.

Had a quick blast of it, looks really good. I love the new HUD options within game - very clean looking and configurable so good work!

The Map changes are intersting and forward thinking which i love about ET, people more accepting than the RTCW crowd and prepared to push things a bit more!

its not heron, its nerfs spawntimer off of the config serpository, when i click 30 it just crashes and says at the top of a little window “MAX CVAR”

but am i still right in saying “u can add gore on the new ETpro, like extra gore in RTCW” if so wats the command :smiley:

Yep they explode and leave body parts about the place, but the best thing about it so far for me is the hitsounds - now u can tell if ur actually hitting someone with a nice “ting” when u get headshots.

The map changes are great too… now it no longer means all it takes is 5 players camping top of Battery… peeps actually have to to defend BOTH entrances properly now…

Yeah the map changes would be good if all the servers using etpro 3 set-up the per-map config correctly, cue last night on Battery we all piled round the back only to discover the back couldn’t be dynamited.
