Well, to each his own. I’ve played on a “clan” server and I’ve been kicked, while I had top XP points, but I don’t attribute that to my ‘leetness’, I just think it was a really crap-tacular clan who liked to push folks around.

Anyway, enough about leetness - it’s a throwback from CS.

One thing about the panzerfaust is that it is a good weapon because you get the insta-gib as well as the kill. Why is that important? Well, a panzer can cut off a rush. If their engineer is right there and they need him to complete an objective, then panzering him sets them back.

A good panzer is highly aggressive and does more forward recon than anything else. A good panzer is predatory as well, looking for either a large group or if a key target presents itself, shoot the target (e.g., engineer). How is that relevant? Let’s see. we’re playing a match, 6 on 6, whatever amount. I panzer a forward advance. I get a nice 3 or 4 bagger. Guess what? Do you think their team is in a good position? Nope.

And I play more competitive than pub play, so that is where my thinking is oriented. Also, Sparkytown closed :frowning:

Match your gun to the function/goal you wish to achieve. A flamer used in an open area is just dumb. Period. To create a choke point, it’s great. The panzer and flamer are real guns. I’m not sure what those noobs are talking about when they say use a real gun. I suppose they’d say that if I had a BFG available to me. Then I would pick a real weapon, like a…panzerfaust.

A clan tag DOES NOT mean that you’re a good player, though I agree with Bani’s statement. Anyone interested in testing their l33t skills ought to consider scheduling a scrim with NARF. Enough said.

Re: pub servers voting… people just vote randomly. Some people always vote yes, no matter what. Some people always vote no, no matter what. Some people vote seemingly perversely. Some people vote selfishly (i.e. vote yes to kick highest players on other team, vote no to kick tks on other team, etc).

Not to mention some servers allow voting but appear set up so it’s literally impossible for votes to pass (I’ve had votes fail 17 yes to 0 no before, e.g. to kick an idle player…)

What I have to say about this buisness is that there are a couple things that really bother other players. My favorite is the pompus jerk who goes out an taunts people that they kill. Of course people are goingt to want to kick you if you aren’t a gratious opponent. Another one I’ve argued with people about is overuse of air support and artillery in certain parts of the game. This last one is forgivable, but I thing if the other team is getting dominated it makes it better for everyone to lay off. I’m not saying that any of you fit into these examples, I just like to make the point that you should consider the people you’re playing with so everyone has a good time.

There are quite a few servers out there that have decent sized regular followings. You should be able to find one without too much trouble.

Not sure what you mean, there are the random pub servers that turn up in the server selection list. I am frequently the best player on these servers, I was getting the impression from this thread that there are other servers better players use. Or something.

I play on Cain’s Lair, I usually find that the players there pretty good. I suppose you would have to look into trying private clan servers if you really want to find the best players.

I just got BANNED from the OSG server for filing a TK complaint on OSG ATARI. He took four teammates out with an airstrike and didn’t even apologize.

I don’t file for accidents usually unless they are particularly stupid and no “sorry” is forthcoming.

Anyway watch out for admins on a power trip.

Yes but I’m the most amazing network admin ever and nothing goes wrong with the network so a certain constabulary can thwart evil doers across the city so I get paids lots and do very little. How a thread on the internet on any site will “get to” me I will never know, if they get to you I’d seek advice. Me I’m just passing the day and watching the TCF release of Terminator 3 in half an hour on my lovely big WS telly, if I any problems my mobile phone will let me know, you satisfied ? Well I’ve just played albeit briefly against one of the gaming gods, he plays on a server FULL of noobs and is himself average to poor and ran like a chicken from the server after a few kills from myself.

After one game of depot on this gods fav server I has 61 kills 19 deaths and a paltry 308 XP 'cos no bastard was alive long enough to want ammo.

I suggest to this gaming god that you find a server within which players don’t ask things like “How do I damage the tank ?” and “why am I sliding on the river ?”

I’m not naming this individual but his nick is made up of two words joined, the first one is like “fire” and the second one is like “footsoldier”. and he may or may not be from Poland. He is NOT a god. He might also have started this thread but I’m not saying that he did, but he might have. :clap:

Actually I caught up with him on another server and he’s not poor just very very average. I had a ratio of 6:1, kills to deaths with him. And yes my possibly polish friend thats me kill you six times you kill me one time. It’s as I suspected with the “gaming gods” all mouth and fuck all action.
