the r_showtris and r_shownormals can be seen through walls at short range, basicly a poor mans wallhack :smiley:

That would be g_debugbones. I may be wrong on the prefix, but I know it’s debugbones. The only thing I don’t get is, why are the player models gone except for the backpacks?

I agree though, seeing through walls is no substitute for aim.

r_wolffog and r_drawfoliage would also “useful”.

As I mentioned in another thread, it wouldn’t hurt to put these in your pb config.

Nope. The program unstoppable mentions does exist. Any person capable of using an internet search engine can most likely find it. Evenbalance is aware of it, and the current version of pb detects if you use cheat protected cvars, although at present it does not seem to kick for them.

Putting the mentioned cvars in your pb config will also catch people who use it, and kick them.

I did some testing on a server bani graciously let me use, and yes, it exists, along with a friggin’ aimbot and wallhack.

i also have a list of the cvars that server admins should look out for, as they are the ones the program “unlocks”.

DO NOT restrict all cheat protected cvars, without first knowing what they do. A few of them are modified internally by the game. If you do this, you will almost certainly end up kicking random innocent people.

For example, cg_skybox is changed by enabling or disabling ‘draw portal skys’ in the options menu. Most likely there are a few others.

actually, cg_skybox is cheat protected.

these are a list of cvars that are hacked by the program. i do not know what all of them do, i’m just giving a list that the author published with default values.

also, all cheat protected cvars can be seen by doing /cvarlist. each cvar with a C next to it is cheat protected.

You did not read what I said. Yes cg_skybox is protected. But, changing ‘draw portal skys’ in the menu changes this WITHOUT CAUSING A CHEAT PROTECTION VIOLATION. just because the developer does not allow people to change it in the console DOES NOT MEAN THAT CLIENTS ARE NOT INTENDED TO HAVE VARYING VALUES OF THAT CVAR it just means that only the game itself is supposed to be able to change it.

I’m quite sure the list of cvars to put in the program was generated by doing cvarlist, and looking for all the ones with a C next to them. That does not mean that all of them are viable cheats.

edit:
minor correction, ‘draw portal skies’ is only a menu option in RTCW, not in ET. In ET, you can still change it before you enter game, without getting a cheat violation. The point still stands that if you blindly add all the cheat protected cvars to your pb config, you will most likely kick innocent people.

i checked through the ET menus, and it seems like draw portal skies was removed. i’m not debating your point of view, i’m just stating a list of cvars that could be used in a way that isn’t too nice…

the cvars i would suggest protecting against would be r_showtris, r_lightmap, r_shownormals, r_bonesdebug, r_wolffog, and r_showfoliage.
