I won’t pre-order. I still buy they game, but I just want to grab my bycicle and go to the store. Actual feel the box and give the money away trough my hands. Then hurry and go AFAP (as fast as possible) back to my house to get it installed
The only other reason to buy in a store is that I have €30 off by 2 coupons i’ve still got and also €7,50 off as I am member of a game magazine that offers me this option. €50 - 37,50= 12,50 total, not bad for a brand new game
I loved RTCW/ET back when the best servers clan and players were playing with stopwatch and regular game, no mods. Punkbuster was very effective and the competition was awesome. I stopped for like a year or 2 and it’s really spam brainless trash right now, i can’t stand it. I don’t owe then anything and will buy when i know what i’m buying regardless of what games they did before. also the fact that they are trying to attract BF2 players, which in my opinion is the worst community ever seen in any games.
Some of us like mods, some of us prefer the game the way the devs intended. Maybe with just slight changes like new maps and/or map rotation.
The ratio between modded servers and vanilla is ridiculous, I understand that multiple offerings is a good thing, but that’s not exactly what we are getting, as the vanilla option is practically null.
The only server I play on is on the other-side of the world from where I am. It’s the only good etmain server I can find, that is not empty all the time. It’s from GameServers.net, and the only change it has is the 6 map rotation cycle. I did find another from www.TAW.net, seem to be closer to me, but it’s not there anymore.
I think that while we wait for ETQW, it would be nice to have a few vanilla ET servers, and have them on a sticky. ET is going to get fresh new players on the following days, just before the release of ETQW. And I don’t think the current situation helps. For someone who has never played ET, it might be hard to catch up with all the changes. I just think we should have both the vanilla and modded flavors. imho, ETQW is probably going to look closer to vanilla ET, than any other mod.
Q4 1.4 added a mod filter on the server broswer, I hope this feature makes it into ETQW.
I plan on pre-ordering this week. Why? I plan on buying it no matter what, and this way I get some free stuff. Granted the “exclusive” poster seems to be the same one they were giving out at Quakecon, minus the Quakecon branding.

I don’t buy games on DVD’s/CD’s anymore. I noticed I can preorder at BestBuy or GameStop, neither of which I shop at. I buy all my games online these days. I don’t even use my DVD drive at all anymore, its almost useless to me.
well presumably the registered username will be linked to your recorded stats and you can change your in-game name to anything you like. If I pre-order from one of the UK options (Play or Game) where do I get my “Unique registration code”? Will this be sent by the retailer or some other means?
So has anyone pre-ordered today and come away completely satisfied after recieving a reg code.

Yeah, I preordered from gamestop by following that link, and they haven’t sent me a registration code either. How long does it take to get your registration code emailed to you? Or has gamestop screwed up?
