true, any news?
Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars Limited Edition and Preorders
Then can some one at SD ask Activision and get back to us as you have a little more pull than we do.
The pre-reg of name is hopefully some login-deal and not the ingame-nick, or I’m going to have a fipp…please, for the love of God, don’t follow EA.
And since I’m in Asia, Hell (or Asia) will have to be frozen over before we get any pre-order deals here…
Its exactly like what EA did…exactly. EA had account names and solider names its the exact same here.
for UK pre-orders Game has it at £34.99 whereas it’s £26.99 from Play :o
question: where would that difference come from? i.e. would the developers or activision receive less money if I ordered from Play? or would the retailer themselves be taking the “hit”?
any UK guys pre-ordered yet? if so which one did you choose?
I would of thought that the retailers/shops/sites would of done a deal with Activision for a set amount of units at a set price. So different retailers would have paid a different price per unit. Larger retailers would have the finances to buy larger amounts of units at a better price, and then offer a better price to the cutomer. Generally software has a higher profit margin. Smaller retailers buying less units at not so good prices, risk selling few at a higher price or trying to match larger retailers and making very little profit.
But I’m just guessing, I think I’ll wait and just buy it from a shop to support local trade.
Don’t worry, they’re just out of their mind. They’re also selling S.T.A.L.K.E.R. for £17,99 while it’s £24.99 (plus shipping) from game.co.uk
However, I will wait for a few days before preordering from play.com. I want to see if the collector’s edition shows up.
with DVD Empire recently pulling out of selling games, blaming the industry itself and their preferance for the larger players:-

I’m torn as to what to do now, I’m all excited at the prospect of being able to pre-order now but I don’t want to give my money to one of those “evil” big guys
btw SD guys have you thought about where you’re going to have the UK launch party? (other than the one in your office to celebrate finishing it ) I’ve just been watching the tapir’s on Animal park at Longleat; hows about going there for the launch, think of the publicity, you may even get featured in the “funny” spot at the end of national news :stroggtapir:

but doesn’t that imply that Play are the bigger guys and so able to screw Activision on their deal as []v[] mentioned?
Isnt that play.com ET:QW just pre-order of regular version NOT the Limited Collectors Edition pre-order that the topic of this thread is.
Selecting Finland on that pre-order page gives me 2 Swedish webshops :?
edit: Well the second one is for Finns also it seems it just gave the page in swedish language.
well the uk link, from what I can tell, only gives us the standard version so it looks like the collectors edition can only be ordered in north america at the mo
any pre-order is good news but when will the rest of the world get the option of the collectors edition?
I’m not pre-ordering anything until i can play the 1 map demo (if there is any). I will admit i almost did pre-order but then, neither of those two stores accept paypal payment. So it’s a big no-no.
btw, s.t.a.l.k.e.r. is not good. i give it a 4 in graphics the rest is 0. Incomplete and a bunch of liars and fake advertisement (there is no vehicles). I wouldn’t expect any better from a russian developement team. You’ll end up regretting it 100%. The ending are really deceiving as well. You’ll get all the cool weapon in chernobyl the railgun and another one, then boom the end. “i wish to be rich???” “dies for no reason” WOW! corny… sorry to spoil all the fun, but at least you might save 40$ and stop feeding liars.
hm…kind of OT, but
- The graphics are not like Crysis, but on bar with todays PC games. Attention to detail is amazing.
- Vehicles were taken out long ago
- You got the wrong ending (there are 7 endings, 2 of which are correct)
sorry to break it to you, but you played it wrong
The game is wrong. I ended up with so much money, and nothing worthy to buy. The only mission i missed was the guide, but i thought going back to the beginning to meet with him was stupid so i went north… As i was supposed to. I don’t like this game despite what you think, it’s weird regardless of the graphics. And i kept the duty viper gun all the way through with headshots. and a sniper rifle for long range shot.
Stop defending this game, i’ve been playing games for 24 years and seen it all.
not fun.
I’ll pre-order regardless, as payment for almost 4 years of fun in W:ET if nothing else
Well said.
The Swedsih webshops got the Collectors edition on sale, but will this have the same pre-order goodies as on those two US shops.
Very confusing marketing.
I hope you can have different player names on different days  without loosing something. About a loginusername i don’t care.
well presumably the registered username will be linked to your recorded stats and you can change your in-game name to anything you like. As mentioned elsewhere, you’ll still be able to see a players registered username (i hope) via a console or suchlike command, this should help prevent any d*******s from ruining other ppl’s game too much with their lame/abusive behaviour

True and admirable loyalty, if I have ever seen it. I will be doing the same.
